Today, June 18, we celebrate Ifugao Foundation Day, a special non-working holiday in the Province of Ifugao pursuant to Republic Act No. 11101, in commemoration of the province's founding anniversary.

This occasion honors the rich cultural heritage, indigenous knowledge, systems, and enduring traditions of the Ifugao people that continue to inspire generations.

Ifugao was established as a separate province on June 18, 1966, when it was separated from the old Mountain Province through Republic Act No. 4695. Today, it is globally recognized for its breathtaking rice terraces, a living cultural landscape that reflects centuries of indigenous ingenuity, sustainable farming practices, and harmony with nature.

As we celebrate this meaningful day, may we continue to preserve and promote the heritage, identity, and pride that define the Province of Ifugao.

On June 12, 1898, the Philippine flag was proudly unfurled in Kawit, Cavite, marking the declaration of independence and the birth of a nation determined to chart its own future. More than a century later, we continue to celebrate the enduring spirit of freedom, unity, and resilience that defines the Filipino people.

As we commemorate the 128th anniversary of Philippine Independence, may we remember the struggles of the past, cherish the liberties we enjoy today, and renew our commitment to building a stronger, more progressive, and united Philippines for generations to come.

Today, June 9, 2026, at the CHED Central Office, 10 presidential candidates will face the IFSU Board of Regents (BOR) as they vie for the position of IFSUโ€™s 3rd University President.

The order of interviews has already been determined through a draw of lots, while the Special BOR Meeting is yet to commence.

Before the proceedings, CHED Commissioner Dr. Michelle Aguilar Ong encouraged the candidates, saying that reaching this stage already proves they are among the best. She reminded them that leadership is more than a position - it is a responsibility and a calling that requires maturity, humility, and service, adding that whoever is chosen has been entrusted with a greater mission.

By the end of the day, one candidate will be elected to lead Ifugao State University into its next chapter.

๐‚๐Ž๐๐†๐‘๐€๐“๐”๐‹๐€๐“๐ˆ๐Ž๐๐’ | Ifugao State University (IFSU) beams with pride as our very own University President, Dr. Eva Marie Codamon-Dugyon, is honored with the 2026 Ifugao Achieverโ€™s Award (Chief Executive Officer or its Equivalent Category) by the Provincial Local Government Unit (PLGU) of Ifugao. The recognition was conferred early today during the Gotad ad Ifugao festivities and the 60th Ifugao Founding Anniversary.

Dr. Dugyon was proudly represented by her father, Mr. Amadito B. Codamon, during the awarding ceremony.

This award recognizes her visionary leadership, which has brought prestige to both IFSU and the entire province. As the Universityโ€™s first woman president from June 2018 to June 2026, she has been guided by her mantra: "Rooted in Culture, Rising to the World: Transforming IFSU and Elevating the Province of Ifugao." This vision inspired the administration, faculty, staff, students, and community partners to work together and excel.

Under her leadership, IFSU expanded its reach onto the national and international stage.
