𝗩𝗠𝗔 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗜𝗦𝗢 𝗦𝘂𝗿𝘃𝗲𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗔𝘂𝗱𝗶𝘁

VMA Global College underwent its ISO 21001:2018 Surveillance Audit Opening Meeting on June 16, 2026, held at the VMA Training Center. It is to ensure continued compliance with the requirements of ISO 21001:2018 and promote continuous improvement.

Present during the activity were President Capt. Niño Elson O. Salabas, PhD, Executive Vice President, Dr. Remedios Johanna S. Vargas, Vice President for TechVoc and Dev't Programs, Dr. Carlitos N. Orola, and Quality, Safety, Environment Manager, 2/M Martin Dale M. Yogore, and ISO 2nd Surveillance Auditor, Mr. Edmund De Leon.

The surveillance audit forms part of the ISO 21001:2018 certification process, which ensures that educational institutions maintain an effective management system.

One hundred twenty-eight years ago, a nation raised its voice against centuries of silence. Beneath the skies of Kawit, a flag unfurled and a dream took shape. Today, we remember that independence was not born from a single declaration, but from the courage of countless Filipinos who chose freedom despite the cost. As we celebrate the Independence Day, may we carry forward the same fire that once turned hope into a nation.

VMA Global College CCJE and the Parole and Probation Administration formalized a partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement held at the Negros Occidental Parole and Probation Coordinating Center today, June 10.

Representing the Parole and Probation Administration were Regional Officer-in-Charge Mr. Rene S. Remollo, Assistant Regional Director Ms. Nilda F. Diwatin, and Chief Probation and Parole Officers Ms. Mary Ann Lalaine G. Fernandez and Mr. Mark Thaddeus D. Tanalgo. The institution was represented by Mr. Rene III B. Alcala, Director of the Office of Student and External Affairs, Dr. Kirsty Mae I. Magno, RCrim, LPT, Dean of the College of Criminal Justice Education, and Ms. Jonabel A. Camanso, RCrim, MSCJ, Program Head.

The agreement marks the formalization of a partnership aimed at advancing shared institutional goals.

College of Criminal Justice Education sealed an agreement with Philippine National Police Regional Recruitment and Selection Unit–NIR and Department of Social Services and Development–Bacolod City on June 3, 2026 at VMA Accreditation Room.

Through the initiative of VMA CCJE Department, led by Dean, Dr. Kirsty Mae I Magno, RCRIM, LPT, the memorandum prioritized student development, research and extension collaboration, trainings & seminars, speakership engagements, and internship programs. The partnership was formally solidified by Capt. Niño Elson O Salabas, President of the Institution together with PCOl Jacob T Crisostomo, Chief, PNP RRSU–NIR and Richelle H. Verdprado, RSW, PhD, Department Head II, DSSD Bacolod on behalf of the Second Party.

PNP personnel, students, faculty, and staff witnessed the milestone, ensuring the development and strengthening of student competencies through academic and professional growth opportunities.

Demonstrating the spirit of volunteerism and community partnership, various clubs and organizations from VMA Global College and Training Centers, Inc. participated in the kickoff of Brigada Eskwela 2026 on June 1, carrying the theme “Bayanihan sa Paaralan: Nagkakaisa para sa Kaayusan at Kaalaman.”

Headed by the Community Extension and Development Office, the clubs and organizations from VMA joined hands in conducting cleanup drives in three different schools including Luisa Medel National High School, Sum-ag National High School, and Sum-ag Elementary School, reinforcing the importance of bayanihan and shared responsibility in education.

The Philippine Coast Guard and VMA Global College signed a Memorandum of Agreement for the first PCG-oriented NSTP-CWTS Program in the region during a ceremony held at the Audio Visual Room on May 28, 2026.

Capt. Niño Elson O. Sabalas, PhD, President of the Institution, and Commo. Christopher D. Auro, PCG, Commander of CGDSV, formally sealed the Memorandum of Agreement, with the Philippine Coast Guard presenting a memento to the institution. They were joined by Dir. Raul C. Alvarez Jr., RD, CHEDRO; AUX RADM Dannyl Yap, Director of PCGA District Western Visayas; and CDR Artzell M. Anacan, PCG, Acting Commander of CGS Northern Negros Occidental.

The agreement will strengthen student training through specialized programs spearheaded by the Philippine Coast Guard to instill discipline, knowledge, and essential
skills among students.

Representatives from the
PCG, along with the institution’s faculty and staff, witnessed the historic milestone as VMA was selected as one of the four pioneer schools to partner with the PCG for this endeavor.

Executives from manning giant Magsaysay MOL Marine, Inc. conducted an ocular visit of the maritime training facilities at VMA Global College and Training Centers, Inc. on May 21 as part of an evaluation of the institution's capability to produce industry-ready maritime professionals.

Led by Capt. Jayson Mosqueda, Cadet and Training Manager, alongside Mr. Jean Patrick Lanciola, Capt. Abaring and Mr. Salditos, the team focused on evaluating the institution's infrastructure, touring the Marine Engineering Laboratory and the advanced ship simulation systems.

The visit was expected to strengthen industry ties, ensuring academic training programs continue to align closely with global maritime standards and workforce requirements.

Caps were worn, names were called, and years of sacrifices finally turned into a moment worth celebrating as VMA Global College and Training Centers, Inc. conducted its 39th Commencement Exercises and Launching Ceremony themed “Globalizing Knowledge, Empowering Graduates: Advancing Education and International Collaboration” on May 15, 2026, at the RSB Gymnasium.

Joined by the administration, distinguished guests, faculty and staff, parents, and guardians, the institution celebrated 36 graduates from Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering, 36 from Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation, 113 graduates from Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management, and 43 from Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management. The institution also honored 614 completers from Marine Transportation and 207 from Marine Engineering for successfully completing their Classroom Instruction.

As another batch officially closes one chapter, the ceremony symbolized not only achievement, but also the beginning of greater opportunities waiting beyond the classroom.

VMA Global College and Training Centers, Inc. held its Baccalaureate Mass and Hooding Ceremony on May 15, 2026, at the RSB Gymnasium, gathering parents, graduates and completers, faculty members, and staff in a celebration marking a significant milestone in the students’ academic journey.

The Eucharistic celebration was officiated by Rev. Fr. Dominic M. Derramas, JCD, Judicial Vicar of the Diocese of Bacolod. As part of the institution’s annual graduation traditions, the Baccalaureate Mass served as a moment for graduating students and completers to reflect on their academic experiences, express gratitude, and seek spiritual guidance as they prepare to pursue their respective professions.

Furthermore, graduating students from the College of Hospitality and Business Management took part in the Hooding Ceremony, a meaningful tradition that recognized their years of hard work, perseverance, and preparation for the professional industry. During the ceremony, the parents and guardians formally placed the hoods on the students, honoring the dedication and sacrifices they invested throughout their years in college.

A Recognition Ceremony was held on May 14 at the RSB Gymnasium carrying the theme, “Globalizing Knowledge, Celebrating Excellence: Advancing Education and International Collaboration.”

The event gathered students, faculty members, and guests from the institution in recognition of academic achievements for the academic year.

Serving as inspirational speakers were Aux. Radm. Alvin G. Aguillon, PhD. for the College of Maritime Studies and Shiera R. Javier, Hospitality and Tourism Educator of USLS Bacolod for the CHBM. Meanwhile, the keynote address was delivered by Dr. Angelica M. Baylon, Director, External Relations Office Maritime Academy of Asia and the Pacific.

The ceremony served as a celebration of students’ dedication and hardwork in their respective fields.
