CITY OF BALANGA, BATAAN โ The Pampanga State University (Pampanga State U), through its College of Education, attended and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Bataan Peninsula State University (BPSU) on May 6, 2026, at 1:30 PM at the BPSU Main Campus, marking a collaborative effort between the two institutions to strengthen academic, research, and extension initiatives, particularly in the programs of Bachelor of Physical Education (BPEd), Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sports Sciences (BSESS), and Bachelor of Technology and Livelihood Education (BTLEd).
Representing Pampanga State U were Dr. Riza B. Lintag, Dean of the College of Education; Dr. Analaine G. Laxamana, Chairperson of the BTLEd and BTVEd programs; and Assoc. Prof. Julius Ceazar G. Tolentino, Area Chairperson of the BPEd, BCAEd, and BSESS programs. The delegation was warmly welcomed by BPSU officials led by University President Dr. Ruby B. Santos-Matibag, along with Prof. Digna M. De Guzman, Campus Director of the Orani Campus; Dr. Alonzo L. Mortejo, Dean of Instruction of BPSU-Orani Campus; and various program chairpersons.
The Memorandum of Agreement centers on fostering collaboration across the BPEd, BSESS, and BTLEd programs of both institutions. It establishes a framework for mutual cooperation in advancing instruction, research, and community engagement, subject to agreed terms and feasibility.
Under the agreement, both universities commit to pursuing joint initiatives such as academic research, knowledge sharing, faculty development, curriculum enhancement, and innovative instructional strategies in Physical Education (PE), Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE), and Exercise and Sports Sciences (ESS). The partnership also allows mutual access to institutional facilities, including libraries, research outputs, and information and communication technologies to support collaborative efforts.
A significant component of the agreement includes provisions for faculty and student exchange programs, which will be governed by separate written agreements. These exchanges aim to strengthen instructional capabilities, research productivity, and student development while clearly defining responsibilities between hosting and visiting parties.
The MOU further outlines collaboration in organizing joint learning events, academic conferences, research colloquia, and extension initiatives. Both parties also agreed to conduct impact assessments of their community extension programs, either by serving as external evaluators for one another or by designating qualified third parties to ensure objectivity and credibility.
In addition, the partnership encourages the development of internationalization efforts such as global exchange programs, virtual collaborations, and participation in international conferences. It also promotes the shared use of sports facilities, laboratories, and other academic resources to enhance experiential learning opportunities for both faculty and students.
The signing of the MOU signifies a strengthened institutional relationship between Pampanga State University and Bataan Peninsula State University, reflecting their shared commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and community development.
