The Department of Interior Design had a productive Monday as it virtually welcomed the members of the Professional Regulatory Board of Interior Design, led by Chairman Hon. Grace-Mari Milan and Hon. Vincent Tan, for the Inspection and Monitoring of the BS Interior Design program at Batangas State University, conducted as part of the Board’s mandate to ensure compliance with professional standards and quality education in interior design.

The presentation was led by the Program Chair, IDr. Marc Alex A. Villena II, with the participation of the Interior Design faculty, the Dean of CAFAD, Ar. Edmon C. Mendoza, and students from various year levels.

The Department expresses its sincere appreciation for the valuable insights shared by the Board. All recommendations will be carefully considered as part of the program’s continuing efforts toward quality enhancement and academic excellence.

Congratulations to Jehu T. Granada, a 3rd Year BS Interior Design student for being recognized as a Top 10 Finalist and People’s Choice Awardee at the AYDA Awards 2025 (Interior Design Category).

The awarding ceremony was held on March 19, 2026 at Lanson Place, MOA, under the theme “Converge: Crafting Cultural Legacies.”

His entry, "THE MASA HUB: Kneading the Future of Cuenca,” reflects creativity, innovation, and a deep commitment to purposeful design. Rooted in social interaction and cultural preservation, the project envisions a multi-functional community hub inspired by Cuenca’s Tinapayan Festival—transforming familiar culinary traditions into meaningful public spaces that celebrate local identity and empower artisans.

This achievement was made possible under the mentorship of IDr. Ma. Alyssa D. Bayer, piid.

A productive and meaningful day at the College of Architecture, Fine Arts and Design as we welcomed the Professional Regulation Commission Board of Architecture for their monitoring and inspection visit. The visit aimed to assess and ensure the quality of the architecture program, including its faculty members, facilities, curriculum, and academic standards in accordance with professional and regulatory requirements. The activity was further honored by the presence of our University President, whose support continues to inspire and strengthen our commitment to excellence in architectural education.
