𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦 | Surigao Education Center (SEC) successfully conducted the ISO 19011:2018 Internal Audit Training on July 21–22, 2025, at the Audio-Visual Room. The training aimed to equip faculty and staff with essential auditing skills in line with the institution’s commitment to continual improvement and quality assurance. The two-day training were facilitated by Engr. Olive Eco, MPA and Engr. Nelson Eco, experts in Quality Management Systems, and was attended by selected employees from various departments.

Internal auditing, as discussed during the training, is a systematic and independent process used to assess whether quality management activities comply with ISO 9001:2015 standards. Participants learned the step-by-step process of conducting an audit—from planning and preparing audit checklists to gathering objective evidence, conducting interviews, and documenting findings through audit reports.

One of the key points highlighted by Engr. Eco was the importance of integrity in internal auditing. She emphasized that auditors must remain objective, truthful, and impartial throughout the audit process. Upholding integrity not only builds trust within the institution but also ensures that audit findings lead to meaningful corrective actions rather than mere compliance.

The training concluded with mock audits and group presentations, allowing participants to apply their knowledge and gain hands-on experience. With this initiative, SEC takes another step forward in strengthening its internal systems and aligning with global quality standards.
