The 34th Nursing Nights proved that behind every future nurse is a community that knows how to celebrate just as passionately as it serves. For one evening, the Father Saturnino Urios University Gymnasium transformed from a place of practice and preparation into a vibrant stage of color, music, and shared pride. Shades of pink and red filled the venue as student nurses set aside their clinical uniforms and stepped into a night inspired by the theme โShort nโ Sweet,โ capturing the playful energy of Sabrina Carpenterโs pop era while celebrating the bonds formed throughout the demanding journey of nursing education.
The evening opened on a meaningful note with a solemn invocation and a stirring rendition of the National Anthem by the Voices of Lights Chorale. Soon after, Mrs. Mary Lois Charity C. Elicano, RN, MAN, welcomed the community and reminded everyone that although nursing requires discipline, resilience, and long hours of dedication, moments like Nursing Nights allow students to pause and appreciate the friendships and support systems that carry them through the profession.
Excitement quickly filled the gymnasium during the Opening Salvo by the FSUU Dance Company, where cheers echoed across the crowd and set the tone for a night that celebrated more than just talent, it celebrated the spirit of the nursing community itself. The program also honored student leaders and athletes from the 124th University Days, recognizing individuals who managed to balance hospital duties, academic responsibilities, and athletic excellence. Their recognition served as a reminder that nursing students continue to excel not only in the wards but also in leadership and extracurricular pursuits.
As the night unfolded, the spotlight shifted to the guilds whose performances electrified the stage. The Hip-Hop and Lyrical competitions became some of the most anticipated highlights of the celebration. Each guild brought its own style, energy, and creativity to the performances, transforming the gymnasium into a vibrant showcase of talent, teamwork, and passion. Cheers from fellow students filled the venue as the performers delivered routines that reflected not only artistic expression but also the strong sense of unity within the nursing community.
Beyond the performances, the three-day celebration of 34th Nursing Days ultimately crowned its overall champion. After a series of competitions spanning literary events, sports, e-games, and musical showcases, Guild 2 Metkayina emerged as the Overall Champion of the 34th Nursing Days, marking a remarkable back-to-back victory for the guild under the leadership of Guild Master Andrea Marquez Cullantes. Their consistent performance throughout the events reflected dedication, teamwork, and the competitive spirit that defined this yearโs festivities.
More than the trophies and titles, this year's Nursing Nights reminded everyone that nursing is built on camaraderie, collaboration, and shared purpose. The celebration brought together students from different year levels and guilds, creating a space where competition and friendship existed side by side. It was a night that highlighted not only the talents of nursing students but also the bonds that will carry them through their journey toward becoming healthcare professionals.
From electrifying performances to moments of pride shared across the nursing community, the night truly lived up to its themeโshort, sweet, and unforgettable.
But the energy, colors, and unforgettable moments of the evening are best seen, not just described.
