📢 HAPPENING NOW | “READY FOR WHAT’S NEXT?”

📅 TODAY | October 15, 2026

3rd-year and OJT students on campus are joining a meaningful session on managing career uncertainty, building confidence, and caring for their mental well-being as they prepare for the future.

For students, reaching this stage brings mixed emotions. Excitement about new opportunities mixes with fear of failure, pressure to succeed, and uncertainty about what lies ahead. Sometimes, we ask ourselves, “Am I ready? Will I make it? What if things don’t go as planned?”

This session reminds us that it’s okay not to have everything figured out. Everyone moves at their own pace, and preparing for the future isn't just about finding a job or building a career. It is also about believing in ourselves, learning from our struggles, and taking care of our mental health along the way.

CTU–Moalboal holds Mental Health Symposium for NSTP Students

Cebu Technological University (CTU)–Moalboal Guidance Services Office in collaboration with the National Service Training Program (NSTP) held a Mental Health Symposium, fostering emotional awareness at the CTU–Moalboal Covered Court on October 10, 2026.

Attended by first-year NSTP students, the event aimed to raise awareness about emotional health, helping students to understand their emotions.

Ms. Lorille Mae G. Aguilar, Guidance Counselor, spoke about emotional health to the students, explaining that basic emotions like sadness, fear, and anger are normal parts of life that should be accepted rather than hidden.

She also reminded students that while feeling angry is natural, everyone is responsible for how they express that anger.

“It's okay to feel angry. It's also telling you that something you hold strongly is being crossed. But what we do with that anger is our responsibility,” she said.

Moreover, she taught simple grounding methods like deep breathing and using the five senses to stay focused to help manage stress.

She also introduced the STOP method, telling students to pause, take a breath, observe their feelings, and act calmly.

Aguilar also encouraged students to be honest about their feelings instead of always pretending to be okay.

“Our emotions are meant to be felt, even the hard ones. It's okay to feel what we need to feel,” she stated.

She ended the talk by reminding everyone that while they cannot control other people or situations, they can always control how they react.

“You cannot control the weather, or the people, or the situation, but you can control your reaction to them,” Aguilar reminded.

This initiative highlights CTU–Moalboal's commitment to acknowledging students' mental well-being, building a positive environment for everyone.

𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐀𝐋 𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐋𝐓𝐇 𝐀𝐖𝐀𝐑𝐄𝐍𝐄𝐒𝐒

Your mental health matters. We all face different struggles, and we all cope in different ways. Never compare your journey with someone else’s, your feelings are valid, and your struggles deserve understanding.

Remember, asking for help is never a weakness. Reach out when you need support, listen without judgment, and be someone others can lean on.

Let’s build a community that chooses understanding over judgment, compassion over criticism, and support over silence.

Supportive and caring community-building begins with awareness, understanding, and open communication. 💙

The Parents’ Orientation on Su***de Prevention gave parents and guardians the chance to find out how to recognize the warning signs, respond with empathy, and set up a safe and supportive environment for their children.

By engaging in thoughtful discussions and exchanging our insights, we are continually reinforcing our joint dedication to promoting mental health, preventing su***de, and making sure that young people always feel they are not alone.

Let us listen, understand, support, and help save lives together.
