The Office of the President of Davao Oriental State University has issued Memorandum Order No. 43, s. 2026, formally announcing the cancellation of Siglakas 2026 and the suspension of all related activities and transactions.

This decision follows the resolution of the University Student Council (USC) Legislative Senate, taking into consideration the prevailing economic and energy-related challenges. The University commends the USC for its proactive and student-centered approach, emphasizing fiscal responsibility, prudent resource allocation, and the prioritization of essential, welfare-oriented programs.

The memorandum outlines key measures, including the immediate termination of all Siglakas-related preparations, implementation of financial safeguards, protection of students from additional financial burdens, and the realignment of resources toward sustainable and academically supportive initiatives.

This directive reinforces the University’s commitment to responsible governance, student welfare, and institutional resilience during times of economic uncertainty.
