NEWS | CSU Lasam secures ₱1.2M CHED grant for coffee-cacao project
Strengthening its research and innovation initiatives, the Cagayan State University (CSU) Lasam Campus has officially received a Notice to Proceed from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) for the implementation of its funded project on coffee-cacao development.
The grant, amounting to ₱1,200,000, was awarded under the Institutional Development and Innovation Grants (IDIG) pursuant to CHED Memorandum Order No. 17, series of 2021. The project, titled “Adoption and Commercialization of Coffee-Cacao Blends,” is set to run for a period of 12 months, with implementation commencing on March 31, 2026, coinciding with the release of funds to the campus.
Addressed to CSU OIC-President Dr. Arthur G. Ibañez, the notice formalizes the university’s authority to begin project operations, including procurement and program ex*****on, in accordance with the terms and conditions outlined in the Memorandum of Agreement.
The initiative aims to advance research on coffee and cacao blending while promoting its commercialization potential, aligning with CSU’s thrusts on innovation, sustainability, and community-based enterprise development.
