Cebu Technological University Expands Global Footprint with Daffodil International University Exchange Program

Cebu Technological University (CTU) has achieved a major milestone in its internationalization efforts as five student scholars prepare for their study abroad journey at Daffodil International University (DIU) in Bangladesh for the Fall 2026 semester. The pioneer cohort represents CTU across two campuses, featuring Nory Ann D. Albo and Jhanna Ambrad Velarde from CTU Argao, alongside Julliane Rose Naquimen Montolo, Zyriene Margaret Gastador, and Jammich Fuentes from CTU Daanbantayan.

This global mobility initiative was spearheaded by CTU Daanbantayan Internationalization and ASEAN Integration (IAI) Chair Dr. Tracy L. Mantos alongside CTU Argao IAI Chair Dr. Rosalyn Alburo, whose dedicated campaigning across CTU campuses successfully expanded international educational pathways for student scholars. The strategic partnership was secured during the QS Higher Ed Summit: Asia Pacific 2025 in South Korea, where DIU CEO and President Dr. Md. Sabur Khan personally pledged full board and lodging for the duration of the students' stay, while DIU waives all tuition fees under the official exchange protocol.

As Bangladesh’s top-ranked private higher education institution, DIU will provide CTU scholars with transformative cross-cultural academic experiences. The cohort is currently completing final documentation and is slated to depart for Bangladesh in the third week of September 2026. Building on this success, CTU's IAI leadership aims to lobby for additional exchange opportunities for CTU’s 80,000-plus student population ahead of the January 2027 intake.

Five Cebu Technological University (CTU) students have been accepted into the Student Exchange Program – Fall 2026 intake of Daffodil International University (DIU), Bangladesh's top one private institution.

Argao’s Nory Ann D. Albo and Jhanna Ambrad Velarde and Daanbantayan’s Julliane Rose Naquimen Montolo, Zyriene Margaret Gastador, and Jammich Fuentes comprise the first cohort of exchange students to be deployed this year.

DIU will waive the tuition, as stipulated under the exchange protocol, while CTU is working to extend its usual support for airfare.

CTU secured the opportunity in November 2025 in South Korea during the QS Higher Ed Summit: Asia Pacific 2025, where DIU CEO and President Dr. Md. Sabur Khan first expressed his commitment to provide full board and lodging for CTU exchange students throughout the duration of their stay.

The students now move into the final documentation as they are expected to leave for Bangladesh in the third week of September.

Argao and Daanbantayan Internationalization and ASEAN Integration (IAI) chairs Dr. Rosalyn Alburo and Dr. Tracy Mantos, respectively, campaigned for the DIU mobility alongside the rest of the chairs from north to south.

The IAI leadership hopes to lobby for more exchange opportunities for CTU’s 80,000-plus students for the January 2027 intake.

CTU International Internship Program for BSHM Students

Cebu Technological University (CTU) Daanbantayan Campus is strengthening its internationalization initiatives through the International Internship Program for Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM) students. The program provides students with valuable opportunities to gain international workplace experience, develop professional competencies, and immerse themselves in diverse cultures and hospitality practices.

Through international internships, BSHM students can enhance their skills in hotel operations, food and beverage services, guest relations, and other areas of the hospitality industry. The experience also promotes cultural understanding, professional confidence, global competitiveness, and career readiness.

The initiative reflects CTU’s commitment to producing globally competent hospitality professionals who are prepared to meet the evolving demands of the international tourism and hospitality industry.

Panagtagbo 2026: A Celebration of Heritage, Unity, and New Beginnings

Cebu Technological University – Daanbantayan Campus comes together today, August 13, 2026, for Panagtagbo 2026, a celebration that welcomes students and members of the university community as they begin another meaningful chapter together.

Carrying the theme “Celebrating Heritage, Strengthening Unity, and Inspiring New Beginnings,” Panagtagbo is more than a welcome activity. It is a chance for the CTU community to reconnect, build friendships, appreciate shared traditions, and create new memories.

Held at the CTU-DB Kalambuan Gymnatorium from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, the celebration brings together students, faculty, and university stakeholders in an atmosphere of fellowship and excitement. Through the efforts of the Supreme Student Government, the event showcases the energy and creativity of the student community while promoting a stronger sense of belonging.

The colorful theme and nature-inspired visuals of Panagtagbo 2026 also reflect the beauty of diversity and the importance of preserving what connects us. As students from different backgrounds come together, the celebration becomes a reminder that our differences can be a source of strength when united by a common purpose.

At its heart, Panagtagbo 2026 is about people—meeting one another, sharing experiences, and moving forward together. It welcomes new faces, reconnects old friends, and encourages everyone to embrace the opportunities that a new academic year brings.

From Resilience to Opportunity: CTU Daanbantayan and Luxembourg Partners Unite for a Sustainable Future

DAANBANTAYAN, CEBU, PHILIPPINES — August 11, 2026 — Cebu Technological University (CTU)–Daanbantayan Campus strengthened its commitment to international cooperation, youth leadership, cultural understanding, and sustainable community development through the Cultural Exchange Through the Be-Prepared Project, in partnership with the Luxembourg Scouts and AIDE Philippines.

The initiative was warmly supported by Campus Director Dr. Rowena P. Dato-on and Assistant Campus Director Dean of Instruction Prof. Felixberto T. Lucabon Jr. and the Faculty Reagent President Dr. Sutero Macabudbud Jr., together with FSTLP Adviser Dr. Nikkithea L. Beduya, SSG Adviser Prof. Marlou C. Godinez, SSG officers, and student leaders.

More than a cultural exchange, the activity provided an opportunity for students to experience how international partnerships can transform community challenges into opportunities for learning, resilience, and sustainable development. Participants shared cultures, experiences, and ideas while developing a deeper appreciation for diversity, cooperation, and global citizenship.

A major highlight was the visit to the community facility established through the Be-Prepared initiative, designed to provide free internet access, a space for studying, educational activities, and other community programs. Powered by solar energy, the facility demonstrates how renewable technology can expand digital access while supporting sustainable community development.

The project carries a meaningful legacy rooted in the Philippines' experience with Super Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan). Its emphasis on preparedness, community empowerment, skills development, and sustainability reflects a powerful transition from disaster recovery toward building stronger and more resilient communities.

For CTU student leaders, the experience became a living classroom—showing that leadership is not simply about holding a position, but about serving communities, respecting cultures, building partnerships, and creating opportunities for others.

Looking ahead, CTU–Daanbantayan is preparing for a formal Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with its international partners to further develop and adopt the Be-Prepared initiative on campus. The envisioned partnership will open opportunities for more international students and foreign partners to participate in cultural exchange, community-based learning, sustainability activities, and collaborative programs at CTU Daanbantayan.

The Be-Prepared Project ultimately offers a message that reaches beyond borders: when cultures connect, knowledge is shared; when technology serves people, opportunities grow; and when communities work together, resilience becomes a pathway to a more sustainable and globally connected future.

LOOK | BETU-CTU partnership delivers first major onsite academic collaboration with 11 student presenters in Vietnam

Barely eight months after formalizing the partnership, Cebu Technological University (CTU) and Binh Duong Economics and Technology University (BETU), Vietnam, are showing the first mileage, as the alliance sends 11 student researchers to the bespoke platform.

Their papers span education, digital communication, artificial intelligence, tourism, hospitality, environmental science, agriculture, public health, and other interdisciplinary fields, reflecting CTU's robust undergraduate research ecosystem.

Headlining CTU's participation is Assoc. Prof. Dr. Collin Garrido who has been fully funded by BETU for his speakership at the event, as well as a lectureship on the 10th.

Alongside Dr. Garrido are Assoc. Prof. Dr. Angen Mae Charcos and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Adelliosa Menchavez, who are both attending the conference and lecturing at the same time.

The delegation from Argao, Barili, Carmen, Danao, Daanbantayan and Tuburan departed Cebu at 1:00 a.m. today for Ho Chi Minh. The 2-day schedule is tight for a series of lectures and a conference on the 10th and 11th, respectively, before the group heads home on the 12th.

CTU is underwriting the students’ airfare, while BETU is providing host support through accommodation, meals, local transportation, and other in-country arrangements.

The shared funding model reflects the institutions' collective resolve to move beyond signed agreements toward enduring collaboration in research, mobility, and academic exchange.

Daanbantayan students’ presence at the event speaks to the campus administrators’ commitment to global identitarianism through research, as Joaquin Miguel Sapnit and Zyriene Margaret Gastador constitute the second batch of outbound academic mobility participants next to the faculty members sent to Turkey in November of last year.
