The PAFT–PWC Student Chapter proudly represented Philippine Women’s College of Davao at the PAFT Students’ Summit Mindanao 2026 at the Central Mindanao University, Bukidnon, joining fellow future food technologists across the region in a celebration of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.

From insightful talks on food safety, sustainability, and product innovation to meaningful connections with students and professionals, the summit strengthened our commitment to leveraging Mindanao’s rich bounty through science and technology.

We are honored to introduce our keynote speaker, 𝐃𝐫. 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚 𝐋𝐞𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐫𝐚 𝐋𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐬 𝐝𝐋. 𝐅𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐨, President of the Philippine Association of Food Technologists, Inc. and Professor at the Department of Food Science and Nutrition, University of the Philippines Diliman.

A highly distinguished academic and internationally recognized expert in Food Science and Technology, Dr. Francisco has been conferred fellowships by prestigious global organizations and has received numerous awards in recognition of her contributions to research, innovation, and food safety. She also holds significant roles in both national and international institutions, further exemplifying her commitment to advancing the field.

With her extensive experience in academia, leadership, and scientific development, Dr. Francisco continues to make meaningful contributions to the profession and the broader community.

We are proud to introduce 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐛𝐢𝐞 𝐀. 𝐄𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐨, Assistant Professor 3 at the Department of Food Science and Chemistry, University of the Philippines Mindanao. A distinguished academic and researcher, she was recently awarded the 𝑮𝒂𝒘𝒂𝒅 𝑪𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒔𝒆𝒍𝒐𝒓 𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒂 𝒔𝒂 𝑷𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒌𝒂𝒎𝒂𝒉𝒖𝒔𝒂𝒚 𝒏𝒂 𝑮𝒖𝒓𝒐 (Junior Faculty) this February 2026—an honor that reflects her excellence in teaching and dedication to student development.

Her achievements don’t stop there—she also secured 𝐑𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝟐 𝐓𝐨𝐩𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐅𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐋𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐄𝐱𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.

Currently leading research on postharvest quality, Prof. Entero brings with her extensive experience in quality assurance, research, and academic leadership. She actively serves in multiple committees at UP Mindanao and contributes to the field as a member of various professional and academic bodies, including PAFT.
