𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦 | 𝗕𝗦𝗛𝗠 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗦𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗲 𝗢𝗝𝗧 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺

Last May 6, 2026, the Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management students of Guimaras State University successfully completed their On-the-Job Training (OJT) in different partner hotels and hospitality establishments. The experience provided the students with valuable industry exposure and strengthened their skills in customer service, communication, professionalism, and hospitality operations. Through hands-on learning and real-world experiences, the trainees were able to apply their academic knowledge while gaining insights that will help prepare them as future hospitality professionals. 🌿🏨

Part of the highlights of the training journey was the OJT Graduation of Premier Island Management Corporation (PIMC) held last April 27, 2026, at the Iloilo Convention Center, Mandurriao, Iloilo City, which celebrated the dedication, hard work, and accomplishments of the student trainees during their internship experience.

The BSHM students sincerely express their gratitude to the management and staff of Citadines Amigo Hotel, Grand Xing Imperial Hotel, Iloilo Grand Hotel, Madison Hotel Phl, Premier Island Management Corporation, Sam’s 21 Hotel, Smallville 21 Hotel, Avelida Homes Hotel, and MO2 Westown Hotel for the warm welcome, guidance, and support throughout their internship journey. The university takes pride in the students’ dedication and successful completion of their training as they continue to pursue excellence in the field of hospitality management.

Under the theme “𝑨𝒍𝒂𝒈𝒂𝒏𝒈 𝑷𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒑𝒊𝒏𝒐: 𝑷𝒂𝒈-𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒂𝒏 𝒏𝒈𝒂 𝑴𝒂𝒚 𝑮𝒖𝒈𝒎𝒂 𝒌𝒂𝒈 𝑴𝒂𝒍𝒂𝒔𝒂𝒌𝒊𝒕,” the Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM) 3rd Year students participated in the Filipino Brand of Service Excellence (FBSE) Training held on April 29, 2026, in partnership with the 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗺 – 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗩𝗜.

The training featured comprehensive discussions led by the resource speaker, 𝗠𝘀. 𝗔𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗘. 𝗚𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘁𝗲 covering key industry-relevant modules: Philippine Tourism Statistics and Tourism Situationers, the 7Ms for Filipino Frontliners, the G.U.E.S.T Technique, and the H.E.A.R.T Method in Handling Guest Concerns.

Organized by 𝗕𝗦𝗛𝗠 2𝗔, the activity aimed to strengthen students’ foundational knowledge and practical competencies in hospitality service, with emphasis on professionalism, cultural awareness, and excellence in guest handling.

Through the four modules, participants gained deeper insights into the current landscape of Philippine tourism and enhanced their frontliner skills essential in delivering quality and heartfelt service in the hospitality industry.

The G-HOPS Organization, representing Guimaras State University (GSU), joins the Panublion Regional Convention and Membership Caravan 2026, held on May 4, 2026, at Central Philippine University, Jaro, Iloilo City, alongside fellow tourism and hospitality students from across the Western Visayas.

Anchored on the theme “Raising the Next Wave of Tourism and Hospitality Leaders,” the event featured a leadership training seminar, highlighting essential skills in communication, decision-making, and professional growth, along with team-building activities that strengthened collaboration, leadership, and unity among participants.

Through this engagement, the G-HOPS Organization continues to uphold its commitment to developing competent, empowered, and globally competitive future professionals in the hospitality industry

𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦 | 𝗕𝗦𝗛𝗠 2𝗔 𝗘𝗺𝗯𝗮𝗿𝗸𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝗻 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝘂𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗖𝗿𝗮𝘄𝗹 𝗶𝗻 𝗜𝗹𝗼𝗶𝗹𝗼 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆

BSHM 2A actively participated in a Food Crawl in Iloilo City as part of their International Cuisine subject, immersing themselves in diverse culinary concepts and global flavors through real-world dining experiences.

The activity aimed to deepen students’ understanding of international cuisines, food presentation, and service standards by exposing them to various dining establishments known for their distinct culinary identities.

Through this experience, students were able to observe how culture, technique, and creativity come together in delivering exceptional gastronomic experiences.

The food crawl included visits to Baking Studio by Theo’s, Wolfgang SteakHouse and Grill, Tapas and Toma, and Hummingbird Lounge, each offering unique insights into global cuisine, restaurant operations, and contemporary dining trends.

This initiative highlights BSHM 2A’s dedication to experiential learning, equipping students with practical knowledge and refined appreciation for the art of international cuisine as future hospitality professionals.
