Happening now at the VSU Isabel Gymnasium is the Road Safety Training for passengers, commuters, and drivers 🚍🚗. This marks the 3rd implementation of the extension project _DRIVE Isabel: Developing Responsible and Informed Vehicle Engagement_ held on April 16, 2026.

The event is organized by the Department of Industrial Engineering headed by Engr. Darry Mhei L. Monares, together with the REI Staff. The training gathers participants to promote awareness and responsibility on the road🚦. Students from ABELS, BSAB, and BPED are also actively involved in the session.

Together, we move toward safer roads and more informed commuters✅.

Mr. Kelvin Klyde Villamore , core faculty member of the AB English Language Studies program, took the lead as the discussant and project leader of the research extension proposal titled “Capacitating Language Awareness, Strategies, and Techniques: A Psycholinguistic Approach to Language Teaching.” This initiative, positioned as both a research and extension project, brings a fresh, high-impact take on bridging theory and real-world classroom practice—very much giving substance and purpose. 📚✨

Grounded in "Psycholinguistics"—defined by
Dr. Annie Parmis—Amorganda (2021) Charmis Grandeur as the branch of linguistics and cognitive science that deals as to how language is processed (language comprehension), produced (language production) and acquired (language acquisition) through cognitive mechanisms.

The proposal highlights the relevance of the "Psychology of Language" as a core discipline in AB English Language Studies. It channels these insights into English Language Teaching (ELT) practices that are not only evidence-based but also classroom-ready—truly a game-changer for educators. 🧠👨🏻‍🏫👩🏻‍🏫

The panel, chaired by the Head of the Department of the Arts and Sciences Catherine Llano Corcino-Daffon, a Doctor of Education in English Language Teaching brought together a dynamic mix of faculty from Linguistics and Literature (Filipino, English and Literary Language), Statistics/Math, Science, Social Sciences, Psychology, and English Language Studies—an interdisciplinary lineup that understood the assignment. ⚛️👩🏻‍🏫

Further strengthening the project initiative is Mrs. Joebren En-en Sibi Herrera, Psychometrician, Guidance Counselor, and college instructor, whose expertise ensures that both the psychological and pedagogical dimensions are on point and aligned on the discourse of "Psychology of Language" . 👨🏻‍💻💯✨

At its core, the research extension and project program aims to equip DepEd teachers with research-driven strategies and techniques—turning theory into practice and insight into impact. Because language education today is not just about teaching—it’s about making it meaningful, intentional, and transformative in facilitating learner centered English Language Teaching. 💡📖✨
