HOLIDAY ADVISORY

Pursuant to the following Proclamations and Presidential Decrees:

1. Proclamation No. 1006, s. 2025.
August 21, 2026 (Friday) is designated as a Special Non-Working Holiday throughout the Philippines in observance of Ninoy Aquino Day.

2. Presidential Decree No. 1083.
August 26, 2026 (Wednesday) is recognized as a Muslim Legal Holiday in observance of Maulud (Mawlid) an-Nabi.
The Muslim holiday shall be officially observed in the provinces of Sulu, North Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Basilan, Tawi-Tawi, Maguindanao, Lanao del Sur, Lanao del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga del Norte, and Zamboanga Sibugay, and in the cities of Kidapawan, Tacurong, Marawi, Pagadian, Iligan, and Cotabato City.

3. Proclamation No. 1006, s. 2025.
August 31, 2026 (Monday) is National Heroes Day, a regular holiday observed on the last Monday of August, pursuant to Republic Act No. 9492 and Proclamation No. 1006, s. 2025.
National Heroes Day is observed annually on the last Monday of August; therefore, in 2026, it falls on August 31, 2026 (Monday).

Please be guided accordingly.

𝗣𝗔𝗛𝗔𝗧𝗜

Effective August 20, 2026, all old/continuing students are required to wear the prescribed school uniform while inside the University premises.

Freshies are advised to bring their Certificate of Registration (COR) upon entry to the University and must observe the prescribed dress code by wearing proper, decent, and appropriate attire.

All students are expected to comply with this policy. Non-compliance may be subject to appropriate guidance and action in accordance with the Student Manual.

TEAM BUILDING 2026 | Strengthening Collegiality, Building Community

The School of Graduate Studies (GS) successfully conducted its SY 2026–2027 Team Building Activity on August 14–15, 2026, at Nanie’s Café, Alu Layag, Parang, Sulu, bringing together GS faculty, staff, and their families in an overnight gathering anchored on collegiality, solidarity, and institutional fellowship.

More than a moment of respite from academic responsibilities, the activity provided a meaningful space to strengthen professional relationships, nurture a supportive organizational culture, and reaffirm the shared commitment of the GS community to excellence in graduate education.

The activity was held with the gracious blessing of University President Prof. CHARISMA S. UTUTALUM, CESE, whose presence was sincerely missed as an equally important University engagement required her attention.
