𝗕𝗔𝗡𝗚𝗢𝗡, 𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗗𝗔𝗡𝗔𝗢 | 𝗖𝗔𝗟𝗟 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗗𝗢𝗡𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦

The 𝗨𝗦𝗠–𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘆, in collaboration with the 𝗠𝗦𝗨–𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗼𝘀 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹 (𝗦𝗦𝗖) and 𝗦𝗞 𝗣𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗚𝗹𝗮𝗻, 𝗦𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶, extends a helping hand to communities affected by the recent earthquake in General Santos City and Sarangani Province through a donation drive.

As we keep the affected families and communities in our prayers, we invite everyone to take part in this initiative. Any amount of help can provide relief and hope to those working to rebuild their homes and lives.

𝗔𝗸𝗺𝗮𝗱, a 4th year BS Chemistry student of the University of Southern Mindanao (USM), for earning 𝟭𝘀𝘁 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 – 𝗣𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗰 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗖𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗼𝗿𝘆) during the 11th Research, Development, and Extension (𝗥𝗗𝗘) Student In-House Review 2026 held on May 19 at the USM Agricultural Research Center (𝗨𝗦𝗠𝗔𝗥𝗖) Building.

Akmad presented her research in the field of 𝗔𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆, standing out among student researchers from various colleges who showcased and defended their outputs across Basic Research, Social Science Research, and Applied or Innovation Research categories.

This achievement reflects her dedication, academic excellence, and passion for research innovation.

The study was conducted under the guidance of 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳. 𝗥𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗱 𝗭. 𝗣𝗮𝘀𝗰𝘂𝗮𝗹, with 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳. 𝗗𝗿. 𝗝𝗲𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗕. 𝐍𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐚 as co-adviser.

The six delegates, accompanied by USM ChemSoc Adviser 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐫. 𝐙𝐲𝐠𝐨𝐭𝐞 𝐇𝐞 𝐒𝐨𝐫𝐮𝐩𝐢𝐚, included first-year BS Chemistry students 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐤𝐚 𝐆𝐮𝐢𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐥, 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐚 𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐨, 𝐀𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐡 𝐉𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲𝐥 𝐌𝐚𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐠, and 𝐘𝐬𝐚𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢 𝐒𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞 𝐓𝐚ñ𝐚, along with second-year students 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐍𝐢ñ𝐨 𝐁𝐚𝐭𝐳𝐚𝐫 and 𝐄𝐫𝐢𝐧 𝐋𝐨𝐮 𝐁𝐮𝐞𝐧𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚.

Anchored on the theme “𝐒𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐰: 𝙎𝙚𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙙 𝙋𝙧𝙞𝙨𝙢 𝙃𝙖𝙧𝙢𝙤𝙣𝙞𝙯𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙈𝙞𝙣𝙙𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙤’𝙨 𝙎𝙞𝙣𝙙𝙖𝙬𝙨 𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙤 𝙊𝙣𝙚,” the two-day convention aimed to foster excellence and strengthen solidarity among PACSMin members. The program included plenary sessions, team-building activities, and the 𝗣𝗔𝗖𝗦𝗶𝘆𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘆𝗮: 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗤𝘂𝗶𝘇 𝗕𝗼𝘄𝗹, which encouraged collaboration and active participation among the attendees.
The 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 – 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐨 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫 (𝐏𝐀𝐂𝐒𝐌𝐢𝐧) is the convergence of chemistry students and enthusiasts from various universities across Mindanao, united by their shared passion for the central science.

In a showcase of cogency and ingenuity, 2nd-year BS Chemistry students placed 𝟐𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐮𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐔𝐩 in the 𝐂𝐨𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐨 𝟏𝐬𝐭 𝐈𝐂𝐓 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭 𝐏𝐢𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 held at the 𝗨𝗦𝗠 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 last 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝟮, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲.

Two 3-membered teams, all comprised of 𝟮𝗻𝗱-𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗕𝗦 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀, under the guidance of 𝐒𝐢𝐫 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐨 𝐏. 𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐚𝐲 𝐉𝐫., the 𝙐𝙎𝙈 𝘾𝙝𝙚𝙢𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙮 𝘿𝙚𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙞𝙧𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙤𝙣, formulated groundbreaking solutions founded on green science and sustainable technology, to tackle real-world issues in our modern day.

The two teams, namely, team 𝐅𝐢𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐋𝐮𝐦𝐞, led by 𝗔𝘀𝗵𝗹𝗲𝘆 𝗥𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝗔𝗯𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮, 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝗡𝗶ñ𝗼 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝘇𝗮𝗿, and 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝘆𝗮𝗵 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗮𝗻, and team 𝐁𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐦𝐒𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐝, led by 𝗘𝗮𝗿𝗹 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮𝗱, 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗸 𝗡𝗼𝗱𝗱𝘆 𝗗𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗼𝗻, and 𝗔𝗝 𝗕𝗮𝗶 𝗠𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘀𝗮𝘆, both proceeded to the final stage of the competition, with BloomShield securing a 𝘁𝗼𝗽-𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗵.

The 𝐔𝐒𝐌 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐲 celebrates this momentous achievement, which champions 𝙨𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙘𝙝 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙙𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙡𝙤𝙥𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩, setting the standard for chemistry education throughout the Cotabato province.

The 𝐂𝐨𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐨 𝟏𝐬𝐭 𝐈𝐂𝐓 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭, with the theme “𝘿𝙞𝙜𝙞𝙩𝙖𝙡 𝙄𝙣𝙣𝙤𝙫𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙀𝙢𝙥𝙤𝙬𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙄𝙣𝙘𝙡𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙂𝙧𝙤𝙬𝙩𝙝 𝙞𝙣 𝘾𝙤𝙩𝙖𝙗𝙖𝙩𝙤 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙫𝙞𝙣𝙘𝙚”, is a two-day event organized by the 𝘾𝙤𝙩𝙖𝙗𝙖𝙩𝙤 𝘼𝙘𝙖𝙙𝙚𝙢𝙚–𝙋𝙧𝙞𝙫𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙎𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙤𝙧 𝙏𝙚𝙘𝙝𝙣𝙤𝙡𝙤𝙜𝙮 𝘼𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙇𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜, 𝙄𝙣𝙣𝙤𝙫𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣, 𝙎𝙘𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚, & 𝙏𝙚𝙘𝙝𝙣𝙤𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙪𝙧𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙥 (𝗖𝗔𝗧𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗦𝗧), uniting science and technology enthusiasts from all across the province, who move toward the same goal of 𝙨𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙣𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙩𝙮, 𝙚𝙢𝙥𝙤𝙬𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙙 𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙥, and 𝙢𝙤𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙣𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙘 𝙩𝙚𝙘𝙝𝙣𝙤𝙡𝙤𝙜𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡 𝙞𝙣𝙣𝙤𝙫𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣.
