A new journey begins as we welcome our new members and 1st-year students into the 𝙆𝙊𝙉𝙏𝘼𝘿 family!

𝑲𝑶𝑵𝑻𝑨𝑫 𝑶𝑹𝑰𝑬𝑵𝑻𝑨𝑻𝑰𝑶𝑵 & 𝑻𝑼𝑹𝑵-𝑶𝑽𝑬𝑹 𝑪𝑬𝑹𝑬𝑴𝑶𝑵𝒀 was successfully held with the participation of 65 members and 32 alumni, coming together to share knowledge, experiences, values, and inspiration with the newest generation of 𝙆𝙊𝙉𝙏𝘼𝘿 members.

This event is more than just a ceremony—it is a reminder that growth comes through action, dedication, discipline, and unity. May our new members continue to learn, train, and carry the spirit and values of 𝙆𝙊𝙉𝙏𝘼𝘿 throughout their journey. 🔥

Through RUGI (Rooted, United, and Growing Individual): A Seminar-Workshop on Heritage, Health, and Sustainable Leadership for the Youth, 𝙆𝙊𝙉𝙏𝘼𝘿 members shared more than just dance steps—they shared stories, traditions, and a deeper appreciation for our cultural heritage.

From demonstrating the movements to guiding participants through every step, our members showed how traditional dances can be learned, preserved, and passed on to the next generation. 💃🕺

Come join us at the Early Childhood Development Center (ECDC) front yard, right in front of the BSU Nursing Building at Km 5, La Trinidad. Just bring a photocopy of your Certificate of Enrollment plus a ₱50 membership fee. We practice from Monday to Friday (except holidays), and sessions run from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM sharp. See you there!

𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝟭𝟲, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 - 𝙺𝚊𝚠𝚊𝚢𝚊𝚊𝚊𝚗𝚗🎍

BSU-KONTAD energizes the 1st Regional Convention on Bamboo Innovation with the traditional dances of Benguet. 📍Benguet State University Gymnasium

Kontad showcased the vibrant and rich culture of Benguet through their performances:

Tallak- A wooden stick that produces sounds when striking the instrument with a smaller and thinner stick. This wooden instrument is made up of annitap tree. This particular tree is culturally significant not only to the people of Kapangan but to all Benguet folks.

Tinaktakyad- A courtship dance that mimics a rooster wooing a hen.

Tayao- Associated with Canao, the dance is performed by a couple: the Menedjao male
dancer doing the Tayao and the Meneshang female dancer doing the Sarong, accompanied by the Kalsa, pinsak, Tik-tik, in rhythm with the solibao and kimbal.

Bendian- A mass dance where all may join, a test of endurance, whose very name means ‘let us see who gets tired.’
