UPLB LRC is extending applications for the Borrow-A-Laptop (BAL) Program under the Agricultural and Rural Development Scholarship (ARDS) Plus Program.

Through semestral laptop leases, the BAL Program aims to support students who need reliable devices for online learning, thesis work, and other academic requirements.

𝗤𝗨𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗙𝗜𝗖𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦:
💻 Priority for undergraduate students with SLAS brackets of FD, PD 80, or PD 60
💻 Students at a considerable disadvantage during asynchronous learning modality (i.e., students who do not own a laptop or who are sharing a laptop with others)
💻 Students with scholarships and other types of grants whose benefits do not cover gadget assistance

The UPLB Office of Student Activities (OSA) conducted its Organization Orientation (OO) for the First Semester of Academic Year 2026–2027 on 10 August 2026 (Monday) via Zoom, with 143 attendees from various UPLB student organizations.

Held every semester, the orientation aims to equip student organizations with essential information on university services, policies, and procedures relevant to their operations and activities.

Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Asst. Prof. Janette H. Malata-Silva opened the program with her Welcoming Remarks. Following this, OSA Director Asst. Prof. John Lorenzo A. Yambot introduced the Office and presented its vision, mission, mandate, as well as current statistics on registered student organizations.

Asst. Prof. Yambot also walked participants through the Student Organization Registration Guidelines and Processes. Building on this discussion, OSA Junior Office Assistant Kim D. Adlaon explained the procedures for filing Activity Permits (AP) and Letters of Information (LOI).

To further address the concerns of student organizations, Culture and the Arts Cluster Head Lourain Anne Suarez facilitated the interactive Q&A portion where participants raised questions on various organizational concerns, including changes in advisers, temporary registration, and requirements for specific activities.

The program continued with an overview of its upcoming schedule of activities and important reminders, while recognizing newly registered organizations such as UP Salamangka, UP Shotokan Karate Club, UPLB Badminton Club, UPLB Graduate Students Society, and User Experience Los Baños, as well as reviving organizations including Bible Readers Society (UPLB BRead) and UP Gawad Kalinga - Los Baños.
