ANNOUNCEMENT

As approved by the University Management Committee and in line with the strict observance of the implementation of University health protocols against COVID-19, Health pass will be issued to all bona fide students of SLSU as a requirement before entering campus premises. Before the issuance, students must submit the following to the campus clinic:

1. Photocopy of MDR/Philhealth card
2. Vaccination Card

The deadline of the issuance of the health pass is only until FRIDAY, August 26, 2022.

The health pass is ONLY available at the campus clinic.

The implementation of the health pass will start on TUESDAY, August 30, 2022, students who are unable to present a health pass will not be allowed entry into campus premises.

It is decided to still be posted for our students to view and witness what was been prepared by the students and the office before typhoon and it is no longer a competition in nature, it is purely a showcase of talents.

CHRISTMAS DAY IS FAST APPROACHING!

The SLSU-Maasin City Campus Cultural Affairs Office under the Student Development Services in cooperation with the Supreme Student Council proudly presents this ……….

PASUNDAYAG SA PASKO 2021, a virtual Christmas program special
which will be held on December 24, 2021.

Students of the campus are encouraged to join and participate to this year-end activity. PLEASE READ and follow guidelines and instruction/mechanics for this competitive participation.

There are three (3) main performances expected to be showcased in this Pasundayag sa Pasko 2021 – SLSU Maasin City Campus; Departmental Christmas Rendition, Christmas Photo Contest, and Christmas Costume Contest. Below are the specification and guidelines should be observed by both department and students in this competition.

Departmental Christmas Rendition

It is a showcase of talents and skills of the student collected/screened by the department with their own unique concept in organizing or presenting it during the event. The departmental rendition should last for minimum of 5min maximum of 10 minutes’ duration and it include the following performances:
• Padayag (Christmas Inspirational Story)
- It is a sharing of personal & real life experience as a student, as a sibling/son/daughter which could inspire to individual pursuing life in this time of pandemic in behalf of varied challenges faced.
- Presentation of this category either be for one student only or more as long as it won’t exceed to two (2) minutes and minimum of one (1) minute video.

•Vocal Rendition
- Performance under this category could be either solo, duet, trio, quartet, group singing/ chorale or caroling is allowed as long as it won’t exceed to two (2) minutes and minimum of one (1) minute video.
- Accompaniment/piece in this performance must be a Christmas song or in Christmas melody/version.

•Acting/Monologue
- This is a minute exchange of dialogue in a certain scenario/situation to where audience can relate to their personal life experience in this time of pandemic.
- Background music is allowed as an effect of the performance.

•Dance Presentation
- Any dance form & style of any members is allowed.
- Christmas music/melody must be used as an accompaniment with a minimum of one (1) to three (3) minutes performance.
- Remix is accepted.

•Spoken Word Poetry
- Performance must be delivered by one student only within a minute or two minutes’ duration. However, using of back up performer/s is allowed but make sure only one vocal identity should be recognized.
- Christmas theme is required.
- Any medium of language is allowed as long as foul words or statements should be observed.

Criteria:

SHOWMANSHIP - 40 %
(refers to the expression of movements and emotions applied in the performance, level of energy & power of movement ex*****on)

ORGANIZATION & STYLE - 35 %
(This refers to the conceptualization of the performances, transition of each performances as arranged and sequences which includes also special effects applied)

RELEVANCE TO THE THEME - 25 %
(Connections or relationship of the performances presented to theme – Christmas)

TOTAL - 100 %

Christmas Photo Contest

This is an exhibition of talented students in the field of Photography. This is to be participated by all students from both departments, entry for this should not be screened by the department. It should be submitted directly to the organizer on or before December 17, 2021 with the specific link for submission. Please observed to the mechanics as follows:

-Christmas photo should be raw or not photographically altered.
-It must have good quality image as taken.

Criteria:

Quality - 50 %
Relevance to the theme - 30%
Creativity/Uniqueness - 20%

CHRISTMAS COSTUME CONTEST

– this is a competition of a creative individuals in the field dress/costume making & bearing oneself wearing the created costume.

- Any Christmas inspired costume is allowed.
- This is not limited to one-man entry participation. It could be also a collaborative one for a specific costume. You can choose your model and a designer/maker of the costume. Make sure the people involve are bonafide students of this campus.
- Costume should be made of recycled (processed materials like rubber, plastics, steel, torn clothing’s…etc.) or indigenous materials (nature provided materials like leaves, husk, coconut shell, etc.) as their main or major tool used in the making.
- Artificial colors like paints/dye is allowed in transforming the materials into the desired design or concept of the costume.
- Entry in this category should not exceeds to 2-3 minutes’ video which includes the preparation or gathering of materials, designing, the making, and the presentation of the costume using real model for the costume.

Criteria:

CREATIVITY - 50 %
(materials used, production & transformation of the materials into a costume.)

DESIGN - 40 %
(achievement of the dress created to the desired inspiration applied)

BEARING - 10 %
(how the model handle the costume & photographic effects of the attire)

TOTAL 100 %

Emerging Young Leaders Program 2021 is a four-session workshop program specially curated for 50 youth leaders aged 18-35 yrs old. This Leadership program aims to engage youth leaders in various learning sessions, focusing on critical topics germane to the U.S. Embassy goals and themes - Leadership, Environment, Maritime, Sustainability, Innovation, Regional Cooperation, Space for Filipinos. EYLP has invited top experts to share their expertise and experiences in advocacy work and project management as well as facilitate mini-workshops where participants can collaborate and be inspired to act. Participants shall also pitch projects inspired by the topics of the sessions for small-grant funding, to be implemented in partnership with the organizers and partners.
