๐Ÿ“ข UMak Institute of Social Work Hosts NASWEI Membership Accreditation Visit

On May 29, 2026, the University of Makatiโ€™s Institute of Social Work (ISW) welcomed esteemed accreditors from the National Association of Social Work Education, Inc. (NASWEI): Dr. Hazel Cometa-Lamberte and Dr. Angelito Meneses from the University of the Philippines โ€“ Diliman, and Prof. John Carlo Perez from Centro Escolar University โ€“ Manila.

The visit, attended by ISW Dean Dr. Sandra Lynn Gatayen, Institute Secretary Prof. Dino Pimentel, faculty member Prof. Jennifer Cueva, and ISW student leaders, is part of UMak ISWโ€™s application for Institutional Membership with NASWEI.

Highlights of the visit included a tour of the Universityโ€™s facilities, including the Library Learning Commons (LLC), Auditorium, University Performing Arts Theater and classrooms. Discussions focused on enhancing curriculum, research programs, and library resources, as well as exploring future collaborations between NASWEI, UMak ISW, and the creation of Junior Social Work Association of the Philippines โ€“ UMak Chapter for academic and student development programs.

The UMak ISW community expressed gratitude for the insightful advice and words of encouragement from the accreditors, reaffirming its commitment to excellence in social work education.
