The Southern Philippines Agri-Business and Marine and Aquatic School of Technology (SPAMAST) reverently welcomed the pilgrim image of Mary Mediatrix of All Grace of Digos on February 27, 2026, at its Malita Campus in Davao Occidental, gathering employees and faculty in a solemn expression of faith and unity.

The sacred visit began with a heartfelt procession around the campus grounds, as members of the academic community walked together in prayerful reflection. The image, venerated by many faithful in Digos, was received with deep devotion, symbolizing hope, grace, and spiritual renewal for the institution.

Following the procession, a welcome prayer was offered, entrusting the entire SPAMAST community—its administrators, faculty, staff, and students—to the loving intercession of the Blessed Mother. The Holy Rosary was then prayed collectively, filling the campus with an atmosphere of peace and reverence. The activity concluded with a closing prayer, sealing the institution’s commitment to faith-guided service and graces of knowledge.

SPAMAST expresses its profound gratitude for the grace-filled visit of the pilgrim image of Mary Mediatrix of All Grace of Digos to the Malita Campus. The institution considers this sacred encounter a great blessing, bringing spiritual renewal, peace, and unity to the entire academic community.

May the loving intercession of the Blessed Mother continue to guide SPAMAST in its mission of service, excellence, and compassionate leadership for the communities it serves.

The Southern Philippines Agri-Business and Marine and Aquatic School of Technology (SPAMAST) expresses its full support to the initiative on the Strengthening of Science-Based Mangrove Rehabilitation and Governance in Davao Occidental, as endorsed by the Regional Development Council XI through Resolution No. 53-E, Series of 2025.

As a state college with strong academic and research foundations in marine, fisheries, and environmental sciences, SPAMAST affirms its commitment to advance science-driven mangrove rehabilitation, provide technical expertise, and strengthen capacity-building initiatives for coastal communities and local institutions. Recognizing the critical role of mangroves in climate resilience, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable livelihoods, the College likewise enjoins all Local Government Units in the Davao Region to actively support and institutionalize evidence-based approaches to mangrove governance.

Through collaborative action, research-informed strategies, and shared accountability, SPAMAST stands ready to partner with stakeholders in safeguarding and restoring the coastal ecosystems of Davao Occidental for present and future generations.

The President of the Southern Philippines Agri-Business and Marine and Aquatic School of Technology (SPAMAST), Dr. Lynette A. Bontia, participated in the CHED-RAISE 2026 Conference titled “Raising AI Education, Empowering Society” held on February 25–27, 2026 at the Iloilo Convention Center, Iloilo City.

Organized by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), the national gathering convened State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) Presidents and Officers-in-Charge of public and private Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) from across the country. The three-day conference underscored the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education, with emphasis on responsible adoption, human-centered learning, and multi-sectoral collaboration.

The Southern Philippines Agri-Business and Marine and Aquatic School of Technology (SPAMAST) actively participated in the Seminar-Workshop on Developing a Research-Intensive, Globally-Ranked and Impactful University held on February 23–24, 2026 at the World Palace Hotel.
The two-day seminar-workshop gathered leaders and representatives from various higher education institutions in Davao region, aiming to strengthen institutional research capacity, global competitiveness, and academic impact. The activity featured distinguished resource persons from GHF University Excellence, including Prof. Don Eliseo Lucero-Prisno III, Founder; Jerico B. Ogaya, National Program Manager; and Christian Joseph N. Ong, Deputy National Program Manager.

Please be informed that the extension of a Suspension Order will depend on the current weather situation. If weather conditions remain manageable, no suspension order will be extended at this time.

Another advisory will be disseminated as necessary, depending on further developments in the weather and based on reports from the different barangays.

As per the recommendation of the MDRRMO Office, classes will resume tomorrow.

In the meantime, school heads may exercise discretion in suspending classes in their respective schools in accordance with Department of Education Memorandum Order No. 22.

Pursuant to the Office of the Municipal Mayor Executive Order No. 12, s. 2026 and Office of the SPAMAST President Memorandum Order No. 17, s. 2026, face-to-face classes and work are hereby suspended on February 20, 2026 (Friday) due to prolonged rainfall brought about by the prevailing shear line and wind convergence.

All SPAMAST Employees are hereby directed to adopt Work-from-Home Arrangement and Flexible Learning Modalities (for faculty and students).
