The excitement, pride, and hope all mixed together in the atmosphere of the room as the Department gathered for the Induction of Officers. It was not just a ceremony but a celebration of trust, responsibility, and the common vow to lead with dedication. Each of the officers stood tall and strong, ready for the oath which was going to be taken not only as a milestone but also as a vow to serve with truth and kindness.
The program was opened by ๐ป๐๐๐. ๐ฐ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ฝ. ๐ฏ๐๐๐๐๐, an alumnus faculty who served MSU main once as a Vice Chancellor for Research and Extension, with his typical calmness and wisdom. His speech made the audience ready for the afternoon, stating that the two characteristics of a true leader are resilience and honesty. His
humorous but significant stories not only entertained but also made us think about how shininess comes out of the furnace and how it can be called Great.
Next was ๐ฏ๐. ๐ฟ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ด. ๐ฟ๐๐๐๐๐๐, another alumna, whose presence, in spite of her health concerns, made a strong statement of commitment. Her words were felt by every single listener at the time she stressed that the concept of power and privilege in leadership is wrong โ rather, itโs about the combination of knowledge and empathy to bring about change. This was a very powerful and touching reminder that at the heart of true leadership there is humility and service.
The main event of the day was the taking of the oath ceremony under the supervision of ๐๐ฟ. ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ ๐๐ป๐ป ๐. ๐๐ฎ๐ฐ๐น๐ฎ๐ป. The officers lifted their hand; there was silence in the hall โ it was a moment of oneness and genuineness which manifested the essence of the day. It was a small but very strong action: an individual pledge by each
to maintain the values of the department, to be among the first in learning, and to perform all with a good purpose. The whole ordeal of oath taking was like witnessing the dawn of a new day โ a day full of commitment and hope being nothing less than renewed.
๐๐ฟ. ๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ฒ ๐ . ๐ง๐ฎ๐ฟ๐๐ฐ, in her closing remarks, aroused the passion in everyone with the strength of her words. She pointed out that the induction meant not the end but the start โ a call to serve beyond the limits of learning and bring the light of leadership into all walks of life. To a certain extent, her message was both a challenge
and a source of strength: to lead with love, self-control, and kindness.
As the hall was filled with applause and every face became illuminated with smiles, I experienced a moment that was a combination of pride and witnessing a process of growth and unity. The taking of the oath brought back the message of leadership that it is not a case of being above others but being together with others โ serving, motivating, and growing together.
The day was not only a ceremony but also a celebration of new beginnings, of promises that were made, and of dreams that were drawn. The Induction of officers indeed marked the day of significance, democracy, and devotion โ one that will ever be a source of encouragement for us all to walk the path of righteousness in our leadership and to serve with the heart.
