𝗨𝗠 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀: 𝗗𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲 𝗩𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀, 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗚𝗼𝗮𝗹𝘀

Day 2 of UMian Fest is officially underway! The morning session commenced with the ceremonial launch and ribbon-cutting, followed by engaging ice-breaker activities. We also held a recap of yesterday’s highlights, led by our Student Council President, Emanon Gilmar Tuazon.

Beyond the festivities, this session underscores the importance of building stronger communities through peace, partnership, and purpose. Aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 16 and 17, we are focusing on justice, collaboration, and unity—recognizing that synergy and harmony are the keys to driving meaningful change.

Ultimately, this reminds us that peace begins from within. A team without unity and respect cannot foster a peaceful community; however, a team rooted in harmony becomes the foundation for lasting impact.

𝗨𝗠 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀: 𝗗𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲 𝗩𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀, 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗚𝗼𝗮𝗹𝘀

As part of UMian Fest, the Day 1 afternoon session formally begins with the Student Leaders taking their Oath for UN SDG Commitment, led by the Director of the Office of Student Affairs, Ma’am Marianne Afrondoza.

Following this, the session proceeds with a plenary talk delivered by 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗮 𝗝𝗼𝘆 𝗘. 𝗦𝗮𝗹𝘃𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗼𝗻, Director of Mindanao Regional Unit, iVolunteer Philippines.

Moreover, the session highlights the importance of building stronger communities through peace, partnership, and purpose. In line with United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 16 and 17, the discussion emphasizes justice, collaboration, and unity—where synergy and harmony drive meaningful change.

The program continues with the Message delivered by Hanna Maj Piccio, Mutya ng Davao 2024 and Founder of Making New Dreamers.

As an advocate for SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 5: Gender Equality, she emphasized the importance of accessible learning and equal opportunities for all.

“𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀. 𝗜𝘁 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀. 𝗗𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲. 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗶𝘁.” Miss, Hanna stated.

This was followed by the reading of the rationale by CSO Treasurer Clarenz Monserate, highlighting the purpose and vision of the event in empowering student leaders toward global goals, and the roll call conducted by CSO Secretary Audrey Balnusen.
