With the theme โ๐๐ฆ๐ด๐ต ๐๐ฉ๐ช๐ญ๐ช๐ฑ๐ฑ๐ช๐ฏ๐ฆ ๐๐ฆ๐ข ๐๐ข๐ต๐ต๐ฆ๐ณ๐ด: ๐๐ถ๐ด๐ต๐ข๐ช๐ฏ๐ช๐ฏ๐จ ๐ข ๐๐ฆ๐ข๐ญ๐ต๐ฉ๐บ, ๐๐ฆ๐ด๐ช๐ญ๐ช๐ฆ๐ฏ๐ต, ๐ข๐ฏ๐ฅ ๐๐ณ๐ฐ๐ฅ๐ถ๐ค๐ต๐ช๐ท๐ฆ ๐๐ฆ๐ข ๐ข๐ฏ๐ฅ ๐๐ฆ๐ฐ๐ฑ๐ญ๐ฆ,โ the two-day conference gathered scientists, researchers, and practitioners to present initiatives, research, and projects that promote the sustainable management and inclusive growth of the West Philippine Sea (WPS).
The ICWPS provided a platform to exchange ideas and applications on ecological health, climate-smart approaches, human and economic dimensions, and sustainable management of coastal and small island ecosystems, highlighting the need to adapt to the challenges of changing times and climate.
In this context, Team Perna PRO, namely: Asst. Prof. Adzel Adrian G. Baldevieso, M.Sc., Honielyn Taka, M.Sc., Harvey D. Lobo, RFP, and Aljhun Lloyd A. Barranco, RFP, presented their research on the ecological and socioeconomic role of green mussel (๐๐ฆ๐ณ๐ฏ๐ข ๐ท๐ช๐ณ๐ช๐ฅ๐ช๐ด) aquaculture in Philippine waters.
Through their participation, Team Perna PRO highlighted the importance of research-driven solutions and community-centered innovations in advancing the vision of a healthy, resilient, and productive sea. The team engaged in productive discussions with the scientific community and connected with potential collaborators and experts in the field. Their work contributes to the broader mission of sustaining marine resources and ensuring food security for present and future generations.
