'Enriching Me Continuously' (EMC)

1st paragraph : Education is a lifelong process, a philosophy of education cliché goes. I can't believe it, my post-retirement employer, the Eastern Mindoro College keeps on educating me at over 71, to which I owe debts of gratitudes. While I provide education and learning to my constituents in this school, I obviously receive the same, because genuine education is a two-way process.

2nd paragraph: Congratulations to the 43 members of EMC Class 2026 dominated by '20-First harvest' of Criminology Department, keeping steadfast in your professional journey. Commencement Exercises is but a beginning, the application of your 4-yearlong experience, and expect more learnings and education along the way.

3rd paragraph: Time flies fast. As of April 2026, I had been 3-straight academic years serving EMC since I was transferred from John Paul College (JPC); also after 3-years of serving there as Associate Professor, with good friends-colleagues Drs. Julio and Mayet Cantos as Registrar and EVP, respectively. Coincidence or not, Doc Jules moved out of JPC and became EMC administrator when I came in. His stint with EMC, however, was short-lived; he passed away too soon prompting his wife Doc Mayet takeover the vacated post. Now, it's history.

4th paragraph: Is 'Emancipator' target College population of 500 next school year realistic? Too ambitious? When this writer joined EMC 3 years back, total College population was around 50. The dramatic drop was due mainly to COVID-19 pandemics, when face-to-face classes were minimized and avoided. Thanks God for the timely opening of Criminology program and Information Systems, more Freshmen enrolled and the population slowly rose again, with today's population of around 250, plus our so-called 'Unit Earners', which numbered close to a hundred yearly enrolment.

Finally, let's ask again, is 500 enrolment next year possible? Let's just cross our fingers, praying for a high enrolment. According to former Dean Dr. Cleopatra Hernandez, College Dept had already reached that much during her term, with massive campaign. And this massive promotion is now being repeated with mam Dianne Dondoy and sir Sherwin Cubos leading the round among SHS highly accessible to EMC.(JSF)

1. Wrong Page 1. It must be the comprehensive report of Graduation deliberation on April 13.

2. Wrong Editorial. It must be the DepEd memo on 2026 Graduation as discussed.
Editorial must be at Page 2 or Page 1, if space permits.

3. Avoid repeating same pix/photos more than twice.

4. Change the term EDITORIAL (as Section title) to VIEWS & OPINION. Other related articles maybe accommodated here.

5. Improve layout of the main title as
'College Emancipator 500'. Delete 'The' in the title, and indicate EMC 56th Commencement Special issue, April 2026.

COLLEGE EMANCIPATOR 500 (55th EMC Commencement Special issue) has new editors, namely, Mean De Torres (Editor-in-Chief), Catherine Ylagan (Associate Editor), and JJ Cubos (Managing Editor) constitute the top staffers, as organized anew today March 25, 2026. Complete editorial team shall be presented next meeting, March 31, Tuesday 11 am.

This special issue is hoped to be finished and circulated a week before College graduation tentatively set on April 27, 2026. It also hoped to be a potent tool for campaign for 500 student-population comes Ay 2026-27, or June -enrollment.

One characteristics of this special issue is, sectionalization shall be based, among others, on 4 Programs - Education section, Business Administration, Information Systems, and Criminology section.
