‎The Palawan State University–Coron Campus has successfully concluded its three-day Internal Audit held from August 24 to 26, 2026. The activity forms part of the University’s continuing commitment to uphold transparency, accountability, and adherence to institutional standards and quality requirements.
‎
‎The audit engaged various student organizations, faculty members, and administrative personnel across the campus’ respective offices and departments. Throughout the duration of the audit, the internal audit team conducted ocular inspections of campus facilities, reviewed pertinent documents and records, and held interviews with faculty and administrators to evaluate compliance with established policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.

‎In the context of Higher Education, internal auditing serves as a critical mechanism to ensure that institutional policies are duly implemented, financial records are accurately maintained, and operational procedures are consistent with the University’s mission, vision, and quality assurance framework.
‎
‎The audit findings were formally presented by Mr. Manny B. Matugas, Internal Auditor II, Ms. Hannah Faith Navarro, and Mr. Philipp Amer U. Fatalla. The auditors acknowledged commendable practices observed across offices and organizations, while likewise identifying Opportunities for Improvement (OFIs) to further enhance efficiency and compliance. The results of the audit are expected to guide future programs and initiatives toward strengthening institutional governance and service delivery.

‎In his message, Campus Director Mr. Mark Justine P. Vicera reaffirmed the Campus Administration’s commitment to sustaining the University’s standards and ensuring full compliance with existing policies and procedures. As recognition of their service, members of the audit team were conferred with Certificates of Appreciation for their professionalism and diligence throughout the evaluation process.

‎Delivering the closing remarks, Ms. Juwelyn P. Fabon, Gender and Development (GAD) Coordinator officially concluded the three-day activity.

‎The successful conduct of the Internal Audit reflects PalawanSU-Coron Campus’s dedication to continuous improvement and quality assurance. By addressing both strengths and areas for growth, the campus reaffirms its commitment to providing excellent service, upholding good governance, and fostering a culture of accountability that benefits both students and the entire university community.

𝗘𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: 𝗜𝗦𝗢 𝟵𝟬𝟬𝟭:𝟮𝟬𝟭𝟱 𝗔𝘂𝗱𝗶𝘁 𝗮𝘁 𝗣𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗻𝗦𝗨 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗱𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹

On 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟏𝟖, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, the University Quality Assurance Center (UQAC) under IPQAIA evaluated the PalawanSU Graduate School, Manalo Campus to maintain strong Quality Management System (QMS) standards.

Dr. Marjorie A. Española, Dean of the Graduate School, welcomed the auditing team and expressed her gratitude for the university's sustained support. A major milestone of the visit was the formal presentation of the 𝐈𝐒𝐎 𝟗𝟎𝟎𝟏:𝟐𝟎𝟏𝟓 𝐂𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 to the campus, honoring the collective dedication of the faculty and staff to operational excellence.

Lead Auditor Engr. Jerico M. Padrones—together with internal auditors Mr. Manny Matugas, Ms. Hannah M. Navarro, and Mr. Philipp Amer U. Fatalla—assessed statutory compliance and identified Opportunities for Improvement (OFIs). The rigorous evaluation was made seamless through the active support of Dean Española, program chairpersons, process owners, and campus personnel.

During the closing meeting, the audit team shared preliminary insights and guided our officials, faculty and staff on submitting prompt compliance reports for the identified OFIs.

This successful audit reflects PalawanSU's unyielding commitment to delivering innovative, high-quality, and accessible education for every student.

Palawan State University, through the Integrated Planning, Quality Assurance and Internal Audit Office - Internal Audit Services (IPQAIA-IAS), successfully conducted the Exit Conference on the Audit of Faculty Workload for the Main Campus (First Semester, AY 2025–2026) today, August 24, 2026

✅𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 & 𝗢𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Dr. Maryann A. Artizuela (Acting Director, IPQAIA) opened the session, detailing the audit's scope, confidentiality guidelines, and the 𝟰𝗖𝘀 𝗽𝗹𝘂𝘀 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸.

✅𝗔𝘂𝗱𝗶𝘁 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Ms. Charity E. Cabrestante, Deputy Director of Internal Audit Services, presented the key audit observations and recommendations.

✅𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗰𝘂𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻: University officials and representative units actively engaged in a open dialogue to provide clarifications, management responses, and proposed action plans addressing the audit findings.

Palawan State University proudly completed the Internal Online Accreditation Survey Visit held last August 10 to14, 2026. The visit was led by Prof. Anna Vanessa L. Soliven, Focal Person for BSBA Marketing Management Program, College of Business and Accountancy as Internal Accreditors’ Overall Coordinator and assisted by Dr. Anabell A. Gacayan, Director, PalawanSU-Araceli Campus as Internal Accreditors’ Assistant Overall Coordinator. This initiative underscores PalawanSU’s commitment to quality-assurance standards across all academic and institutional activities, continuing journey towards quality, excellence, and continuous improvement.

[REPOST] Palawan State University officially launched its university-wide Internal Audit during an Opening Meeting on August 10, 2026 at the 2nd Floor of the Faculty Research Training Center, reinforcing its commitment to continual quality improvement and transparent governance.

The activity opened with remarks from Dr. MaryAnn A. Artizuela, Acting Integrated Planning, Quality Assurance, and Internal Audit (IPQAIA) Director, who emphasized the strategic value of internal auditing in evaluating organizational processes and maintaining high service standards across all units.

In his address, University President Dr. Venzon L. Limpiada emphasized that the internal audit serves as a constructive mechanism for growth rather than a mere compliance requirement. He urged the university community not to fear or feel anxious about the audit process, framing it instead as a valuable opportunity for continuous institutional development. Dr. Limpiada highlighted the critical importance of updated operations manuals for each office and external campus as well, noting how these foundational guidelines directly support PalawanSU’s pursuit of institutional accreditation. Ultimately, he called for open collaboration and transparency across all units to reinforce the university's vision of glocal leadership.

Setting the technical direction for the exercise, Engr. Jerico M. Padrones, Team Leader, Audit Team, presented a comprehensive overview detailing the scope, methodology, timeline, and key evaluation areas aimed at strengthening operational efficiency and risk management.

The meeting brought together key university administrators, unit heads, and internal auditors, signaling a unified readiness to uphold the university's quality management systems, with the formal Closing Meeting scheduled to synthesize findings on August 13, 2026.

The Office of the Integrated Planning, Quality Assurance, and Internal Audit (IPQAIA) extends its deepest appreciation to Engr. Jerico M. Padrones as he concludes his leadership role over the University's Planning, Development, Quality Assurance, and Internal Audit functions.

Throughout his tenure, Engr. Padrones exemplified visionary leadership, unwavering professionalism, and a steadfast commitment to advancing institutional excellence. His strategic foresight and meticulous approach strengthened the University's systems for planning, quality assurance, and internal audit—leaving the Office more resilient, responsive, and results-driven than ever before.
