We proudly celebrate the remarkable performance of our Elementary first-time takers, who achieved an impressive 93.94% passing rate, surpassing the national passing percentage. We likewise commend the consistently improving performance of our Secondary graduates in the September 2025 Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers, with a 64.71% passing rate among first-time takers.

𝐍𝐰𝐒𝐒𝐔–𝐒𝐉𝐂 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐄𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐄𝐱𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐞

Northwest Samar State University – San Jorge Campus successfully conducted an Earthquake Drill yesterday, December 10, at 9:00 a.m. as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen disaster preparedness and promote a culture of safety within the campus community.

The drill was facilitated by the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) San Jorge, in partnership with the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and the Rural Health Unit (RHU) San Jorge. Their coordinated efforts ensured the realistic ex*****on of emergency procedures and provided valuable guidance to participants.

Students, faculty, and staff actively participated in the activity, demonstrating cooperation and awareness throughout the simulation. The drill familiarized the campus community with essential earthquake response protocols, including the “Drop, Cover, and Hold” technique, proper evacuation routes, designated safe zones, and coordinated response measures.

According to organizers, the successful conduct of the drill highlights the shared commitment of the university and local agencies to disaster resilience. Activities like this reinforce preparedness and help ensure that the community is equipped to respond promptly and safely during actual emergencies.

The university expresses its appreciation to MDRRMO San Jorge, BFP, RHU, and all participants for contributing to a safer and more disaster-resilient NwSSU–San Jorge Campus.

𝐈𝐧 𝐏𝐡𝐨𝐭𝐨𝐬 | 𝐃𝐚𝐲 1 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐈𝐧-𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰

The Research, Innovation, and Extension Office successfully opened the three-day Institutional Research and Extension In-House Review 2025 with a productive first day, featuring research presentations and academic exchanges. For. Eduardo G. Espejon Jr., RIE-SJC Director, introduced the proposed Research, Innovation, and Extension Framework “NEXUS,” outlining the campus’s direction toward interconnected and transformative initiatives.

Faculty researchers presented proposals and completed research that addressed academic and community needs. The sessions showcased the university’s dedication to innovation, relevance, and evidence-based solutions. The day concluded with completed research presentations, underscoring meaningful contributions to both the university and partner communities.

𝐈𝐧 𝐏𝐡𝐨𝐭𝐨𝐬 | 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝟐 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐀𝐂𝐂𝐔𝐏 3𝐫𝐝 𝐒𝐮𝐫𝐯𝐞𝐲 𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐭

Day 2 of the Level III, AACCUP 3rd Survey Visit at Northwest Samar State University – San Jorge Campus continued with the comprehensive evaluation of the Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (BSA) program. The accreditors thoroughly examined key program areas of instruction, faculty development, extension engagements, and local and national linkages.

To validate the presented documents and achievements, stakeholder interviews were conducted involving BSA alumni, current students, and extension beneficiaries. Their testimonies emphasized the program’s strong influence on community development, agricultural innovation, and the career readiness of graduates.

Meanwhile, the BSIT program's accreditors focused on meticulously reviewing and validating the documents prepared by the area chairpersons. The evaluators also verified compliance with updated standards in technology education and assessed how the program adapts to emerging trends and digital competencies required in the field.

NWSSU–San Jorge Campus continues to affirm its dedication to delivering relevant, innovative, and community-responsive education that prepares future professionals for the demands of their respective industries.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊: 𝑬𝒅𝒅𝒊𝒆𝒃𝒐𝒏 𝑳𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒊𝒄𝒉𝒐, an Agricultural Technology student of NWSSU–San Jorge, exemplified commendable integrity after discovering ₱100,000 in cash. He promptly reported the incident to the Gandara Municipal Police Station, ensuring the safe handling of the lost money.

Following standard verification procedures and coordination with the station, the amount was formally turned over to its rightful owner, Mr. Amador Azucena, Ret. PA. The Gandara MPS, under the leadership of PLTCOL Jonathan L. Cuntapay, OIC, facilitated the return.

Landicho’s action stands as a clear demonstration of honesty and responsible citizenship.

Strengthening its commitment to quality and excellence in higher education, Northwest Samar State University officially kicked off the three-day online accreditation survey conducted by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) on December 3–5, 2025, via Zoom.

This 3rd Survey Visit covers the evaluation of two programs undergoing Level III accreditation in San Jorge Campus—the Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (BSA) and the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT). Throughout the activity, accreditors will rigorously assess compliance with AACCUP’s standards, focusing on areas of instruction, research, extension, student services, and other key indicators of academic quality.

This milestone reinforces the campus’s continuous pursuit of improved institutional performance and its mission to provide transformative, relevant, and globally competitive education to its learners.
