The Institute of Education formally presented the results of the Makiagum Projectโs literacy program to Barangay Alasas officials during a debriefing session held on April 22 at the Session Hall of the Barangay Alasas in the City of San Fernando, Pampanga.
The meeting aimed to inform barangay leadership of the learnersโ progress following the completion of the literacy component. Present during the session were ๐๐ผ๐ป. ๐๐ฟ๐ฟ๐ผ๐น ๐ฅ. ๐ฃ๐ถ๐ป๐ฒ๐ฑ๐ฎ, ๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ป๐ด๐ฎ๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ฝ๐๐ฎ๐ถ๐ป, and ๐๐ผ๐ป. ๐๐ต๐ฒ๐๐ธ๐ฎ ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฒ ๐. ๐ ๐ฎ๐น๐น๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ถ, Barangay Kagawad, alongside selected parents, student participants, and fourth-year student teacher representatives.
Leading the presentation were ๐๐ฟ. ๐๐ถ๐บ๐ฏ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐น๐ ๐. ๐ ๐ฎ๐น๐น๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ถ, Dean of the Institute of Education; ๐๐ฟ. ๐ ๐ฎ๐ต๐น๐ฒ๐ป ๐. ๐๐ป๐๐ผ๐ป๐ถ๐ผ, Head Proponent; ๐๐ฟ. ๐ ๐ฒ๐น๐ฎ๐ป๐ถ๐ฒ ๐ข. ๐๐๐ป๐ถ๐ผ, Head of the Research Office;๐ ๐. ๐ฅ๐ผ๐บ๐ฎ๐น๐ฎ๐ถ๐ป๐ฒ ๐. ๐ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฎ๐น๐ฎ๐ป๐ด, ๐๐ฃ๐ง, Research and Extension Representative and Student Teacher Supervisor; and ๐ ๐. ๐๐น๐น๐ถ๐๐ฎ๐ต ๐๐ผ๐ ๐. ๐๐ฎ๐๐ฎ๐ป๐ฎ๐ณ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฐ๐ถ๐ฎ, ๐๐ฃ๐ง, NSTP Coordinator.
The proponents reported observable improvements in studentsโ reading skills and active engagement throughout the sessions. Parents shared positive feedback on their childrenโs experiences, noting visible academic growth. One completer, Kian, described the sessions as ๐๐ฃ๐๐ค๐ฎ๐๐๐ก๐ ๐๐ฃ๐ ๐๐ง๐๐๐๐ฉ๐๐ ๐ฉ๐๐ ๐ฅ๐ง๐ค๐๐ง๐๐ข ๐๐ค๐ง ๐๐๐ก๐ฅ๐๐ฃ๐ ๐๐๐ข ๐๐ข๐ฅ๐ง๐ค๐ซ๐ ๐๐๐จ ๐ง๐๐๐๐๐ฃ๐, which earned praise from his teachers.
Concerns encountered during the implementation were also addressed, and recommendations were identified to ensure a smoother rollout of the upcoming numeracy phase. The session reaffirmed the collaborative partnership between the Institute of Education and Barangay Alasas in supporting learnersโ development within the community.
