The University of Antique Main Campus formalized a partnership through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) on May 19, 2026, held at Busalian Hall, UA Main Campus, Sibalom, Antique.

The MOA signing was facilitated by the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) through the BS Community Development program. Representing the University were Dr. Jelyn O. Alentajan, OIC-University President; Dr. Catherine C. Viesca, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Mr. Alvin V. Lavaran, Program Head of BS Community Development; and Mr. Randy Puyong, Director of the UA Career and Job Placement Office. Representing DSWD Regional Office VI was Ms. Judith Barredo.

The agreement formalized the collaboration between the two institutions in the implementation of the Cash-for-Work Program under the KALAHI-CIDSS initiative, which is designed to benefit 150 deserving individuals composed of graduates and currently enrolled college students.

The Cash-for-Work Program under KALAHI-CIDSS serves as a strategic support mechanism that provides financial assistance to help defray students’ educational and living expenses, enabling them to continue their studies while assisting graduates in their transition toward permanent employment. Moreover, the program offers valuable work experience and skills training that will further equip beneficiaries to become more competitive and prepared for future employment and livelihood opportunities./ Vedija, C. The halls of the University of Antique echoed with applause, tears, and hopeful smiles as the University of Antique Laboratory High School celebrated a milestone in the lives of its students during the Commencement Exercises held at PaghiUsA Hall on May 7, 2026.

A total of 34 Senior High School students officially received their diplomas, while 55 Junior High School learners were awarded certificates of completion.

Adding inspiration to the ceremony was the presence of Byron L. Fadollone, Social Welfare Officer III and Supervising Social Worker for Medical Social Service at the Philippine General Hospital, who served as the commencement speaker.

As an alumnus of PSCA-HS Batch 1992, Fadollone returned to his alma mater carrying stories of resilience, service, and purpose. In his message, he encouraged the graduates and completers to pursue their dreams with courage and compassion, reminding them that success is not only measured by achievements, but also by the lives they touch along the way.

The Legacy of Dr. Pablo S. Crespo Jr.
President, University of Antique
2018-2026

University of Antique, steadfast in its mission of transforming lives and building communities, refused to be confined within the boundaries of its campus. It stepped beyond its walls and into the heart of society- where education is not merely taught, but lived.

Through its strong partnership with the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), the University turned vision into action. Anchored in DOST’s Community Empowerment through Science and Technology (CEST) program, UA brought science, innovation, and compassion to communities that needed them most. These were not just outreach activities- they were lifelines of opportunity.

Among its most remarkable initiatives was the Holistic Opportunities and People’s Empowerment (HOPE) Project, a transformative program designed for Persons Deprived of Liberty at the Antique Provincial Bureau of Jail Management and Penology. In a place defined by confinement, UA planted seeds of possibility. Education became a bridge- restoring dignity, rebuilding confidence, and rekindling dreams once thought unreachable.

The impact of HOPE echoed far beyond prison walls. It stood as proof that learning has the power to liberate the human spirit. For its profound contribution, the project earned regional acclaim, winning the title of Best CEST Project in the search conducted by the DOST Regional Office VI.

In every initiative, the University of Antique proves that its mission is not a mere statement etched in documents- it is a living promise, carried into communities, changing lives one empowered soul at a time.

The Legacy of Dr. Pablo S. Crespo Jr.
President University of Antique
2018-2026

Quality education is not merely a promise at the University of Antique-it is its lifeblood. As the only state university in the province, UA carries the weight of responsibility with pride, ensuring that every academic program stands firmly aligned with the rigorous standards of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and other accrediting bodies.

In a remarkable testament to its dedication, the University of Antique has achieved 100% Certificate of Program Compliance for all its academic offerings, duly granted by CHED. This distinction is more than a formal recognition-it is a powerful declaration that every course, every curriculum, and every learning experience meets the highest benchmarks of excellence.

Through this achievement, UA boldly affirms its unwavering commitment to safeguarding academic integrity and delivering education that is not only compliant, but transformative. Here, standards are not merely met-they are honored, upheld, and elevated for every student who walks through its gates.

The spirit of achievement filled the air as the University of Antique Laboratory High School (UA LHS) celebrated its Recognition Day on May 6, 2026, at the Paghi-UsA Hall, University of Antique.

Gracing the occasion was Dr. Jelyn O. Alentajan, Officer-in-Charge University President, who delivered an inspiring message that resonated deeply with both students and educators. In her address, she emphasized that recognition is not merely a reward for intelligence, but a reflection of perseverance, discipline, and the courage to rise above challenges.

Adding prestige to the ceremony was this year’s resource speaker, Angel Myca M. Sembrano, a proud alumna of UA LHS Class of 2020. Now a Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (LEPT) passer, she earned remarkable distinction by securing Rank 6 nationwide. Her return to her alma mater was both symbolic and inspiring, an embodiment of what dedication and faith in one’s dreams can achieve.

In her speech, Sembrano shared her personal journey, from being a student seated in the same hall years ago to standing before the new generation of achievers. She encouraged the honorees to embrace both success and struggle, reminding them that excellence is built not overnight, but through consistent effort and resilience.

More than just a culmination of hard work, the event served as a powerful reminder that within the halls of UA LHS are stories in the making- stories of ambition, grit, and future leaders ready to make their mark on the world.

Progress is rarely loud at the beginning. It builds quietly through long hours, bold decisions, and a collective belief that something greater is possible. For the University of Antique (UA), that quiet persistence has now found its voice on the global stage.

In the recently released 2026 rankings of the World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI), UA proudly ascended from 398th to 345th place among the world’s top institutions for innovation. A leap of 53 places may seem numerical at a glance, but behind it lies a deeper story of transformation shaped by vision, inclusivity, and an unrelenting commitment to redefine education beyond convention.

This upward movement is more than a statistic; it is a declaration. It signals that UA is no longer simply participating in the global conversation on innovation, it is steadily becoming part of those shaping it.

No. 12 – Visionary Leadership
No. 26 – Industrial Application
No. 35 – Inclusive Social Innovation for the Underserved
No. 82 – Empowerment-Based Management

The numbers say it clearly: WURI paid off. But beyond the rankings, what truly matters is what they represent- a journey still unfolding, and a future that UA is determined to shape.
