CONGRATULATIONS!
Congratulations to AIIAS campus physician, Dr. Monalisa Acero-Xavier who received the Community-Engaged Lifestyle Medicine (CELM) Program Award for the project “Adventist International Institute of Advanced Studies and Seminary-Blue Zone School Project” on September 30, 2026 during the 10th Annual Convention of the Philippine College of Lifestyle Medicine (PCLM) held at Clark, Pampanga, Philippines.
An unexpected honor, a grateful heart, and a renewed commitment to serve. 💚🙏
I am deeply grateful to the Philippine College of Lifestyle Medicine (PCLM) for presenting me with the Community-Engaged Lifestyle Medicine Program Award for the “Adventist International Institute of Advanced Studies and Seminary – Blue Zone School Project,” during its 10th Annual Convention on September 30, 2026, in Clark, Pampanga.
Serving as the Campus Physician and leading the AIIAS Clinic’s Health and Wellness Initiatives has given me a meaningful opportunity to bring together my calling as a physician, my commitment to Lifestyle Medicine, and my faith in God.
When I began this work, receiving an award was never something I had in mind. My hope was to serve faithfully—to care for those who needed help, make preventive care more accessible, and encourage our campus community to embrace habits that support healthier, fuller lives. To have these efforts recognized is deeply encouraging. It feels good to know that work offered with sincerity and purpose has been seen and appreciated.
For me, campus health reaches far beyond the consultation room. It lives in the conversations that help someone understand their health, the encouragement that makes a person feel capable of change, and the opportunities we create to practice healthy living together. It means helping people nourish themselves well, move regularly, rest adequately, manage stress, build meaningful relationships, and avoid harmful substances—with compassion for their individual circumstances.
Through the AIIAS Clinic’s health education, preventive care, wellness activities and community participation, including Walk With a Doc, I hope to help make these principles a familiar and achievable part of everyday campus life. Each person who joins, asks a question, takes a first step or encourages a friend contributes to that shared purpose.
This recognition is something I am honored to share with the AIIAS community.
To our administrators, clinic team, faculty, staff, students, families, volunteers and partners: thank you for your trust, cooperation and willingness to take part. Thank you for welcoming health initiatives into your schedules and for helping turn ideas into opportunities to serve. A healthier community grows through the everyday contributions of many people.
Living and serving here has also deepened my appreciation for AIIAS. Its peaceful surroundings, opportunities for movement, spiritual life and sense of community make it, in my personal experience, one of the healthiest and most nurturing campus environments anyone could call home in the Philippines. It is a privilege to contribute to a place where learning, faith, service and well-being can grow together.
Thank you, PCLM, for this meaningful encouragement and for recognizing the value of community-engaged Lifestyle Medicine. I receive this award with gratitude, humility and a greater sense of responsibility to continue learning, listening and serving well.
Above all, I thank God for His grace, guidance and the strength He provides for this work. May He continue to use my profession and the opportunities entrusted to me to bring care, hope and healing to others.
With a grateful heart, I look forward to continuing this work—one patient, one family, one healthy habit and one shared step at a time.
To God be all the glory. 🤍
