The parade route takes the grand procession right through the heart of Paranas Town Proper to SSU-PC, bringing together students, faculty, and local supporters lining the streets to cheer on their teams.

โ€‹Leading the parade are the Colors, followed by an impressive lineup from Units I to VIII. Each unit is proudly represented by its Muse and Es**rt carrying their official banner, accompanied by an enthusiastic contingent of students and faculty members.

The sea of colorful unit banners, loud cheers, and community pride set an exhilarating tone for the rest of the SUNDAYAG 2026 festivities.

CATBALOGAN CITY, SAMAR โ€” Demonstrating sharp analytical prowess and academic excellence, student representatives from Samar State University - Paranas Campus clinched the 2nd Runner-Up spot in the Mathematics Quiz Bowl during the inaugural 1st PISTON Challenge 2026.

The competition took place as part of the 1st General Membership Meeting, Technical Seminar, and Student Quiz Bowl hosted by the Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers (PSME - Catbalogan Chapter ).

The student team representing SSU-Paranas Campus was composed of Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSED) major in Mathematics students namely Glen Alberca, Mary Jelaine Gullos, and Jennica Dalimet.

The delegation was guided throughout their preparation and performance by their dedicated coaches, Mr. Randy Gabon and Ms. Ma. Leonora N. Poe.

Their standout performance in the said mathematics competition brought honor to the university, highlighting the competitive drive fostered within SSU-Paranas Campus.

The three-day workshop brings together SUC leaders, QA heads, deans, QA focal persons, and senior faculty engaged in quality assurance to enhance Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) systems and practices in Philippine higher education institutions.

Through collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and continuous improvement, SSU continues to strengthen its commitment to quality, excellence, and a culture of continuous improvement.

As part of ongoing efforts to promote safety and preparedness, the Philippine National Police (PNP) Paranas conducted a safety simulation exercise at Samar State University-Paranas Campus.

The exercise was designed to strengthen campus security measures, improve emergency response coordination, and increase awareness among students, faculty, and staff on proper actions during critical incidents. The activity also highlighted the importance of collaboration between educational institutions and law enforcement agencies in ensuring a secure learning environment.

Samar State University-Paranas Campus welcomed the Samar State University Infrastructure and Development Services Office and Physical Facilities for an ocular inspection of campus infrastructure projects today, July 29, 2026, spearheaded by the University President, Dr. Redentor S. Palencia.

The activity was also attended by the University Vice President for Administration and Finance Services, Engr. Mirador G. Labrador, providing an opportunity to assess the status of existing facilities and ongoing development initiatives. It likewise served as an avenue to identify priority infrastructure needs and explore strategies that will further enhance the campus environment for students, faculty, staff, and other stakeholders.

As SSU continues to grow, the University's proactive approach ensures that infrastructure improvements continue to meet the evolving needs of the academic community.
