The University Student Council recognizes the concerns surrounding the unaccounted funds and the questions raised by the student body. With the support of the University Administration, a Fact-Finding Committee was established to determine the circumstances of the matter. Following its completion, the Committee recommended that the USC pursue the necessary measures for the recovery of the funds and provided the basis for the preparation of the appropriate complaints and documents.
Throughout the process, the USC has upheld due process, fairness, and the presumption of innocence, while providing the person of interest opportunities to be heard and personally address the concerns.
We also acknowledge that the Council is not beyond criticism. We remain willing to examine our own processes, recognize lapses, and improve where necessary. At the same time, our officers deserve to perform their duties without intimidation or retaliation.
The USC will continue to cooperate with the proper authorities and pursue the appropriate legal and administrative remediesโwithout prejudice, without premature judgment, and without compromising accountability.
This is about protecting student funds, upholding the rights of everyone involved, and ensuring that student leaders can serve without fear.
Due process over public spectacle.
Accountability over silence.
Integrity over convenience.
The USC remains committed to seeing this matter throughโlawfully, fairly, and resolutely.
