Alhamdulillah, the 6th Islam Awareness Week (IAW), successfully spearheaded by the Muslim Studentsโ Association (MSA) of Zamboanga Peninsula Polytechnic State University (ZPPSU), has concluded with great success. This yearโs celebration, themed โPromoting Peace, Understanding, and Cultural Harmony Through Islam Awareness,โ was held on May 5, 2026, at the University Gymnasium. The event highlighted the importance of building unity, respect, and mutual understanding among diverse communities while strengthening the spiritual connection of students and community members with Islam.
The event was attended by respected University Officials, Dr. Cyrus Pil P. Cadavedo, VP for Student Affairs and Services, and Dr. Romel G. Guillermo, Dean of Student Affairs and Services, together with our supportive MSA adviser, Engr. Aizon L. Susulan. We sincerely express our gratitude for their presence, appreciation, and continuous support for the MSA and its initiatives.
One of the highlights of the celebration was the inspiring lecture delivered by Sheikh Mohammad Salmann M. Sakili, who emphasized the significance of the 6th IAW theme and encouraged everyone to uphold peace, unity, and understanding through Islamic values.
The event also featured the Mosabaqah Competition with different categories such as Adhan (Call to Prayer), Qiraโatul Qurโan, and Arabic Calligraphy. Congratulations to all the participants and winners for showcasing your talents and dedication. May you continue to strengthen your faith, knowledge, and love for Islam, and may your achievements inspire others to pursue excellence in both deen and character.
In the afternoon session, the program was graced by Abdu-Ameen A. Mohammataib, who delivered an inspiring Islamic talk (Muhadarah) that reminded everyone of the importance of faith, unity, and good character in Islam. This was followed by an interactive Question and Answer Session related to Islam Awareness Week, where participants actively engaged and deepened their understanding of Islamic teachings and values. The session also included the Arabic Calligraphy activity, showcasing the creativity and artistic talents of the participants.
The event concluded with the Awarding Ceremony for the winners of the different competitions and a special tribute to the graduating executive officers, who were honored with certificates of recognition for their dedication, leadership, and valuable contributions to the organization and the Muslim student community.
Expressing our heartfelt gratitude, we also acknowledge and sincerely thank the judges of the different competition categories who played a vital role in the success of the 6th Islam Awareness Week competitions, we are deeply grateful to Sheikh Mujahid Abduraf, Abdul-Ameen A. Mohammadtaib, Deedat S. Ibrahim, Abuben Khair M. Yusop, and Heesham Nur C. Sakili for their time, expertise, and valuable efforts in evaluating the participants with fairness and sincerity. Your presence, guidance, and support became an important part of the success of this event.

The 6th Islam Awareness Week would not have been possible without the hard work, cooperation, and dedication of every officer, volunteer, and supporter under the leadership of the MSA President, Al-Hamar S. Alamara.

Together, let us uphold the message of peace and unity that Islam teaches and carry it beyond the walls of our campus.
