The English Department organized a meaningful and well-arranged event to mark International Women’s Day. The program was gracefully hosted by Saadia Rafiq (Semester VIII), who conducted the event in a confident and engaging manner.
The ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Ayesha Ambreen (Semester II), followed by a beautiful Naat in praise of the Holy Prophet ﷺ presented by Aaila Ikram (Semester VIII).
Students actively participated in different segments of the program. During the speech session, the speakers highlighted the importance of women, their role in society, and women’s rights from both Western and Islamic perspectives. These thoughtful speeches were delivered by Mehmoona Waseem (Semester VIII), Meraj Fatima (Semester VIII), Hafsa Siddique (Semester VI), and Warda Jabeen (Semester VI).
In addition, Meraj Bibi (Semester VI), Humna Bint e Hasanat (Semester VIII), Irum Altaf (Semester VI), and Ayesha Siddique (Semester VIII) presented poetry that beautifully reflected the dignity and status of women.
To further emphasize the social issues faced by women and their real-life challenges, a Pakistani short film ZOHRA was also screened during the event. The telefilm portrayed the difficulties and struggles women encounter in society and helped raise awareness among the audience, encouraging thoughtful reflection.
The event was honored by the presence of Vice Principal Sir Sohail Malik as a special guest. Faculty members including Mam Ayesha, Mam Maria, Mam Sobia, Mam Nayyera, Mam Komal, Mam Ayesha Rubab, Mam Shehnaz, Mam Eman, and Mam Fakhra also attended the program.
