GILGIT BALTISTAN AGRICULTURAL DEVELOPMENT ORGANIZATION (GBADO) is youth organization established by Agriculture students of University of Karachi in 2013 to share and foster the knowledge of modern methods and use of technology in agriculture development for the downtrodden communities of GB.Our aim to address and solve grassroots issues in agriculture sector. Agriculture is backbone for our econo

my in the remote areas of Gilgit-Baltistan.GB is blessed with natural resources with highly productive land but need to explore new methods to yield the standard output. The atmosphere is pretty good for growing fruits, vegetables and crops. But due to lake of modern knowledge and relevant technology to apply and jettison the outdated traditional methods of farming therefore farmers are unable to get maximum yield. Farmers use chemicals for increase yield or to protect plants from pest and disease without noticing hazardous effects on soil and human health. Some of the chemicals cause dangerous disease like cancer, kidney stone, Multiple Myeloma, neuroblastoma and Leukemia. Use wrong techniques of pre-harvesting and post harvesting (picking, storage, transport) procedures that ultimately affect on our quality of crop that cause loss of profit and time. It is our duty to spread adequate knowledge for farmers that they should avoid or minimize perilous chemicals which cause health hazardous, it also effect to over soil properties. That’s why we should improve pre harvesting and post harvesting techniques. At last over suggestion is that we should demand for organic growing’s. Our goal is to overcome these problems and issues through guiding, sharing and communicating each other.
