The second group of students from Karakoram International University has departed for China under the one-year Student Exchange Program. Fifteen talented undergraduates from Forestry, Wildlife Range, and Horticulture will pursue specialized courses, research projects, and cultural activities, strengthening KIU’s global ties. Vice Chancellor Dr. Attaullah Shah highlighted that these students represent Gilgit-Baltistan and KIU as future ambassadors of knowledge and regional development.

🎓 Karakoram International University – SSC-I & II First Annual Examination 2025 Result Summary

Karakoram International University has officially released the overall results for the SSC-I & II First Annual Examination 2025.

📈 Key Highlights:

Total Candidates Appeared: 5,982

Total Passed: 4,615

Overall Pass Percentage: 77%

🔹 SSC-I (Class 9):

Appeared: 2,629

Passed: 1,738

Pass Percentage: 66% (slightly down from 67% in 2024)

🔹 SSC-II (Class 10):

Appeared: 3,353

Passed: 2,877

Pass Percentage: 86% (compared to 91% last year)

📉 While the overall pass rate has dipped slightly from last year’s 81%, the results highlight steady academic performance and commitment to excellence.

Students of Karakorum International University Hunza campus conducted a cleanliness drive at Haldeikish sacred rocks located at dondass Ganish Hunza as a part of their class project.
Students urged all tourists visiting the place to refrain from throwing garbage.
They requested visitors/tourists to ensure cleanliness to maintain mother nature in its purrest form.

Karakoram International University (KIU) has announced new administrative assignments for faculty members following recommendations from the Task Force Sub-committee. As per the official notification issued by the Office of the Registrar, Dr. Garee Khan, Assistant Professor (BPS-19), has been appointed as the Head of the Department of Earth Sciences.

Additionally, Dr. Samina Khan, Assistant Professor in the Department of Linguistics & Literature, has been assigned the responsibilities of Director, Human Resources Development, in addition to her academic duties. In her new role, she will be responsible for developing and implementing HRD strategies, policies, and programs that align with the university’s goals. She will also oversee talent management and succession planning, identify training needs, conduct professional development initiatives, and manage performance frameworks to boost productivity. Furthermore, she will work to foster a positive and creative work environment by addressing human resource issues.

The university administration has directed both faculty members to assume their new roles with immediate effect and submit their joining reports accordingly.

Prince Rahim al-Hussaini Aga Khan V is the 50th hereditary Imam of the Shia Ismaili Muslims, as designated by Mawlana Shah Karim in accordance with the historical Shia Imami Ismaili Muslim tradition and practice of nass.

The announcement was made in the presence of the Imam’s family and senior Jamati leaders, in Lisbon on 5 February 2025, following the reading of Mawlana Shah Karim’s Will.

The Nur of Imamat, in unbroken hereditary succession from Hazrat Mawlana Ali (peace be upon him), is vested in our 50th Imam, Mawlana Shah Rahim Al-Hussaini Aga Khan V.

The Diwan of the Ismaili Imamat has officially announced the passing of Maulana Shah Karim Al-Hussaini, Aga Khan IV, the 49th hereditary Imam of the global Ismaili Muslim community. He was 88 years old.

Appointed as the Imam at the age of 20, Aga Khan IV dedicated his life to the spiritual and material well-being of humanity worldwide.

As the Founder and Chairman of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN)—one of the world’s largest private development organizations—he led efforts in education, healthcare, economic development, and cultural preservation. Today, AKDN employs over 80,000 people globally, working to improve the quality of life in some of the world’s most vulnerable regions.

Further details regarding succession and funeral arrangements will be announced soon through official announcements, said a press statement issued by the Diwan of the Imama.
