Another inspirational story flying over the mountains exploring unexplored.
Natasha Aslam Barcha graduates with a STEM degree, Master of Science in Sustainability from Tufts University, Boston, United States. In recognition of her contributions at her university, she was selected to deliver a speech on behalf of her program at the 2025 commencement ceremony.
Natasha Barcha holds a Bachelor of Science in Earth and Environmental Sciences from the University of Central Asia, Tajikistan, where she graduated with high academic honors, cm laude. During her undergraduate years, she received the Excellence in Leadership Award and the Outstanding Community Service Award at the beginning and end of her academic journey.
She completed her schooling at the Aga Khan Higher Secondary School, Hunza.
Though her pursuit of education has taken her far from home, she carries her people and her community in her heart. As she highlights in her graduation speech, she has been committed to working for them through climate action and sustainable development. In Tajikistan, she collaborated with USAID and authored a childrenโs book in Tajik and English about plastic.
In the USA, she is currently working for City of Somerville in Massachusetts as their Sustainability Analyst to help them track carbon emissions and making data-driven climate policies.
