🎮🌍 SOCIAL ACTION PROJECT – FIELD VISIT REPORT
SDGs Scouts for E-Sports | NUML Islamabad*
As part of our Social Action Project, SDGs Scouts for E-Sports, a stakeholder meeting was conducted at the Pakistan Sports Complex, Islamabad with Mr. Ashraf, Assistant Director, to discuss the role of E-Sports in youth development and its alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 4, SDG 8, SDG 9, and SDG 11).
The objective of the visit was to present our project and advocate for the inclusion of E-Sports facilities to promote digital skills, innovation, and youth engagement.
During the meeting, the team highlighted how E-Sports can contribute to digital citizenship, skill development in areas such as gaming strategy, graphic design, and online collaboration, while also supporting economic growth and innovation. It was also shared that the Sports Complex currently does not have an E-Sports section, although a previous initiative had been attempted but could not be sustained due to space limitations.
Mr. Ashraf appreciated the initiative and acknowledged the growing importance of E-Sports for youth engagement. He assured that the matter would be presented to higher authorities for further consideration regarding facility development.
The visit significantly enhanced our understanding of institutional advocacy, policy dialogue, and stakeholder engagement. It also reinforced the importance of structured proposals for sustainable implementation of youth-focused initiatives.
We recommend developing a formal proposal highlighting infrastructure needs, benefits, and long-term impact to support future progress.
