An enlightening seminar on Engaging Youth for Peacebuilding, organized by the National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA) in collaboration with the Department of Peace and Conflict Studies, NUML Islamabad provided a powerful platform for discussions on the pivotal role of youth in fostering sustainable peace.

The event highlighted strategies for countering extremism, promoting tolerance, and strengthening youth participation in peacebuilding initiatives. It was an honor to engage with experts and fellow students, exchanging ideas on creating a harmonious society.

The visit provided a valuable opportunity to observe the workings of the Senate and understand the role of policymakers in addressing various issues. Our recent seminar on "Religious Extremism/Terrorism in Pakistan: Challenges and Way Forward" was a remarkable event. We had the privilege of hosting Najimdeen Bakarae, an esteemed international speaker from Africa, known for his extensive research on Middle Eastern conflicts. Local experts also played a crucial role by presenting on the innovative use of AI tools in research, showcasing how these technologies can be leveraged to tackle the complexities of religious extremism and terrorism. A talk on religious extremism and terrorism was also organized. The discussion delved into the significant threats to Pakistan ( with Dr. Riaz Shaad HOD IR and PCS and Saba Noor terrorism analyst and former lecturer at NDU) exploring potential ways forward.

The seminar offered valuable insights and practical solutions, fostering a deep and productive discussion on addressing these critical issues in Pakistan.
