WOMEN University Mardan proudly participated in collaboration with partner institutions, in the International Conference on “Politicizing the Issue of Environmental Justice and Mobilizing Climate Financing for Pakistan” held at the historic Governor’s House, Peshawar under the gracious patronage of Faisal Karim Kundi.

The conference brought together a distinguished gathering of policymakers, academia, development practitioners, civil society representatives, youth leaders, media professionals, business community members, and national and international stakeholders to deliberate upon climate embedded vulnerabilities, environmental justice, climate governance, and mobilization of climate financing mechanisms for Pakistan.

The conference was jointly organized by Pakistan Development Foundation, Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University Peshawar, Women University Mardan, and Institute of Management Sciences Peshawar along with partner organizations and stakeholders committed to sustainable development and environmental protection.

The deliberations focused on strategic pathways for climate financing, green economy frameworks, environmental sustainability, and the disproportionate vulnerabilities faced by women and marginalized communities in the context of climate change and environmental degradation in Pakistan.

The event also reflected a strong commitment towards environmentally responsible practices, with the conference being conducted largely paperless and carbon conscious — an important message for future climate governance initiatives.
Women University Mardan remains committed to supporting sustainable development, environmental awareness, and collaborative initiatives for a climate-resilient future.
