UET Peshawar and Selamat Charity Foundation Ink MoU
UET Peshawar and the Selamat Charity Foundation signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), here today. The MoU was signed by Mr. Ahmad Sohail, CEO Selamat Charity Foundation, and Dr. Arif Khattak, Director ORIC UET Peshawar, in presence of Prof. Dr. Waqar Shah, Prof. Dr. Khan Shahzada Prof. Dr. Farid Khan (Secretary BOASAR) and senior faculty and staff. The three-year MoU (2025–2028) signed under the umbrella of ORIC UET Peshawar will ensure joint efforts for the development of the Sustainable Construction Research Center (SCRC). Under this collaboration, both the Selamat Charity Foundation and UET Peshawar will arrange seminars, workshops and conferences aimed at promoting sustainable construction materials and techniques in Pakistan. The Foundation will also provide funding opportunities for UET Peshawar through joint research grants and projects. Additionally, Selamat Charity Foundation will arrange funding for the establishment of a demonstration site showcasing sustainability-based technologies, including Rammed Earth construction, Interlocking Blocks, Sun-Dried Bricks, Fly-Ash Bricks, and other technologies proposed by SCRC. UET Peshawar, through its faculty and research scholars, will offer supervisory and monitoring services for the development of display technologies and will engage MS/PhD students in training and research at the demonstration site. The site will comprise a model school building where classrooms will be constructed using various sustainable construction methods developed by SCRC.
