Two medals for Patricia Kobuhwezi, a bronze in the 5000m and a silver in the 1500m. BSU now has 3 medals after Henry Mugume's impressive performance in the 10,000m, finishing 3rd after favorite Seth Akampa developed out due to complications.

Earlier today, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. John F. Mugisha, together with members of top management, flagged off Bishop Stuart University’s sports teams ahead of the Inter-University Games organized by the Association of University Sports Uganda -AUUS. The games will take place at Uganda Christian University from 19th to 22nd December 2025.
The University will be represented in the following disciplines: men’s football, men’s and women’s volleyball, women’s netball, men’s and women’s woodball and athletics for both men and women.
The Vice-Chancellor encouraged them to put in their best effort, uphold discipline and represent the University with pride and integrity.

The Western region PAYSCO 2025 ended yesterday, 11th December 2025, with many students renewing their lives in Christ.
Our Chancellor & Ankole Diocese Bishop, Rt. Rev. Assoc. Prof. Fred Sheldon Mwesigwa officiated at the closing ceremony and delivered a message of appreciation and encouragement.

In his remarks, the Bishop thanked His Grace the Archbishop, the Provincial Youth Coordinator, the Provincial Mission Coordinator, the Provincial Secretariat and all participants who travelled from across the country. He also extended special appreciation to the host team from Bishop Stuart University, Mbarara High School and Ankole Diocese. He further commended our Vice-Chancellor, Prof. John F. Mugisha, describing him as both a preacher and an academician, whose leadership continues to transform the University.

Speaking with fatherly love, he encouraged the congregation to test for HIV before marriage. He also advised the youth to reduce their consumption of junk food to maintain good health. Above all, he called on them to receive Christ, testifying that giving his life to Christ became the turning point of his own journey.

During the same ceremony, our Vice-Chancellor announced a 50% scholarship on 1st-semester tuition for all those who have physically attended PAYSCO 2025. He assured the young people that BSU will continue standing with them, even as the next PAYSCO heads to Mbale.

The 21st RUFORUM AGM was officially opened yesterday by the Minister of Education, Botswana. Over 170 universities in Africa were represented by their vice-chancellors, deans, principals of agriculture and students.

We are pleased to inform the public that two of our 3rd year Faculty of Law students participated in the University Moot Competition organised by the International Centre for Arbitration and Mediation in Kampala (ICAMEK).

BSU garnered the 3rd position and most importantly, our participating Students secured free training in Arbitration by ICAMEK next year.
