September 8–11 is Su***de Prevention Week, a time to remind our LSUA community that you are never alone, and asking for help is a sign of strength—not weakness.

College can come with stress, pressure, loneliness, and challenges that aren’t always easy to talk about. Sometimes, the person who needs support may be the person sitting next to you in class, your roommate, your teammate, or even your friend who always seems to have it together.

💬 Check in.
👂 Listen without judgment.
🫶 Let someone know they matter.
📱 Reach out when you need support.

You don’t have to have the perfect words. Sometimes, simply saying “Hey, how are you really doing?” can make a difference.

If you or someone you know is struggling, help is available. You don't have to go through it alone.

Dear LSUA Faculty, Staff, Students, Student Organizations, and Community Members,

As we mark the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, LSUA Student Life invites our campus and surrounding community to come together for UNITED: A 9/11 Evening Walk of Remembrance on Friday, September 11, 2026. UNITED is an evening of remembrance, reflection, and togetherness. Through a 2,977 step memorial walk (the number of lives lost on September 11, 2001), we will remember the lives forever changed, honor the courage and service of so many, and reflect on the unity and compassion that brought people together following September 11.

We invite students, faculty, staff, student organizations, families, friends, and community members to participate. Walk individually or alongside your organization, department, team, family, or friends as we come together as one community. As a special commemoration of the 25th anniversary, the first 60 participants to cross the finish line will receive a limited UNITED 9/11 Challenge Coin.
