A review of our education material from week 5, we learned that there is a difference between being physically inactive and being sedentary.

- Physically inactive is when you are not meeting the physical activity guidelines
- Sedentary behavior is the action of sitting, lying down, or in a reclined position while being awake for long periods of time.

A person can meet the physical activity guidelines and still be considered sedentary.

Being sedentary can increase chances of developing cardiovascular disease and diabetes, while both being sedentary and physically inactive increases your risk of becoming obese.
