Iowa State University P&S Council The Iowa State University Professional and Scientific (P&S) Council serves as a resource and advocat

The council identifies the needs of its constituents, provides information and advice in response to those needs, and recommends policies and procedures to the administration that benefit P&S employees and assist in fulfilling the mission of ISU. The P&S Council is a representative body elected by, and responsible to, P&S employees at Iowa State University. In addition to six officers, Councilors

at the ratio of 1 for every 75 P&S employees are elected from the following representational areas: Academic & Research, Business & Finance, IPRT/Ames Lab, Extension, President’s Office, and Student Affairs. The Council has several standing committees that serve specific needs: Peer Advisory, Policies & Procedures, Compensation & Benefits, Retention & Recruitment, Representation, Awards, University Planning & Budget, and Communications. Full P&S Council meetings are held monthly and are open to the public. WHAT DOES THE P&S COUNCIL DO?
• Serves as an advisory body to administration
• Studies and responds to issues affecting P&S employees
• Represents P&S employees on university standing and ad hoc committees and taskforces
• Arranges university-wide Open Forums on a wide variety of issues
• Coordinates P&S Awards
• Sends P&S Email Communications
• Promotes Tuition Reimbursement Grants and Professional Development Grants
