The Brandeis Women of Color Alliance, informally known as WOCA is a group of female students who mostly, but not exclusively, identify as women of color at Brandeis University. We meet weekly to discuss various topics that we feel affect us as women, students, and scholars. It is our hope that together, we will assist each other in navigating the four years of undergraduate education we are receiv

ing. Recently WOCA has been making the shift from an internal organization of Brandeis University to an external representative of the Brandeis community accessible to the entire Brandeis community and greater Boston/Cambridge area. This shift is being made in the hopes of assisting our members to make greater and long-lasting connections with those on our campus and those outside of the rich, but small Brandeis community. As we move further into the 21st century, we see that networking will be a key component in the success of all our members. Despite any changes our organization undergoes we serve first and foremost as a sisterhood and forum for the women of our campus. WOCA women are incredible by nature and have promising futures ahead of them in all fields of study. As we try to secure the future of our organization in assisting those who will walk this campus later on, we ask that you join in this sisterhood or in the assistance in strengthening our sisterhood.

On April 21st, we had our annual spring event: Giving FOC Flowers.

This event is a celebration of love and affection for under appreciated individuals, particularly femmes of color. We brought together a mass of people who made flowers for themselves, loved ones, or friends, spreading joy throughout campus.

Join us for our final event of the semester, Giving Femmes of Color Flowers! We will be crafting gorgeous bouquets to celebrate the beauty, strength and harmony within femmes of color.

We’re delighted to welcome Sean Kim as a featured performer for this year’s Femme of the World Gala. A pianist and sound designer studying at Berklee College of Music, Sean brings a sound that moves effortlessly across genres, weaving together gospel, jazz, R&B, and hip-hop into something vibrant and soulful.

Through her artistry and musical expression, she creates moments that invite us to listen deeply, connect, and celebrate together.
