: At just 20 years old, Morehouse junior, Christopher Knight Jr. '27, is already proving what it means to be a visionary and a doer. The entrepreneur recently opened the third location of his booming bakery business, Cookie Chris, marking a major milestone in a journey that started in his own kitchen.

Knight, a graduate of Warhill High School in Williamsburg, Virginia, began selling homemade cookies at the age of 16. What started as weekend deliveries and hallway sales has grown into a full-fledged enterprise with three brick-and-mortar bakeshops: the first in his hometown of Williamsburg and two more in the Richmond area.

This summer, Professor Nathan Nobis of Morehouse College taught an Introduction to Philosophy class inside Metro Reentry Facility. The experience was nothing short of transformative—for him and his students.

Through honest conversations and thought-provoking lessons, this professor discovered something powerful:
ļæ½"I was most struck by how similar we all are. In ways that matter, we are the same. These students—kind, thoughtful, and caring—reminded me of the power of education to transform lives, even in the most challenging circumstances."

At Common Good Atlanta, we believe in the transformative power of education—not just to expand knowledge but to build hope, connection, and understanding.

šŸ“š Education changes lives. Thank you to our incredible educators, students, and supporters who make this work possible.

We are thrilled to showcase our partnership with
Morehouse College, bringing a Clemente cycle of courses to the historic federal prison (USP) just south of Grant Park! šŸ“šāœØ

Since last year, Morehouse faculty have been teaching CGA courses in creative writing, philosophy, and Africana history. Currently, Atlanta artist and Morehouse professor Masud Olufani is teaching the history of Black Art, with the Clemente cycle concluding this fall with a course on Black literature.

This partnership has been warmly welcomed by students and administrators alike. Shout out to Dr. Nate Norment and Dr. Christopher Gleason for being awarded Volunteer of the Year for their incredible efforts!

Starting this fall, Morehouse will offer fully accredited courses, continuing to provide faculty for future Clemente cycles over the next three years. As we grow, CGA aims to expand our offerings to include academic support, tutoring, enrichment, and reentry support.
