Check out our booth at Musikfest, located in Festplatz between the PlayStation & WholeFoods booths. Music Artificial Intelligence Algorithms, Inc., or MAIA for short, is currently working on project Jamrooms. The two founders, Tom Collins and Christian Coulon, teamed up with four students from Lehigh and Ashoka University to accomplish the dream of creating the simplest music creation software in the world. Infused with artificial intelligence, live collaborative features, and a layout bridging both music consumer and music creator, Jam is sure to transform the way users interact with music.

We already released a two-week prototype exclusively for Mountaintop critique, but our final release date is scheduled for July 24th! Stay tuned for more updates as our countdown to release continues!

Meet the team! We are working on Jamrooms as a part of Lehigh's Mountaintop Initiative, moving inquiry to impact all over the world. From left to right: Tom Collins, Jake Blecher, Sam Nguyen, Christian Coulon, Simran Bhuria, and Allison Kundrik.

Tom is a rising professor in the Lehigh Department of Psychology, with research interests in music psychology (how people perceive repetitive structure, and how they form expectations for what will happen next in music) and music computing (e.g., can AI be used to generate new music in specifiable styles?).

Jake Blecher is a rising senior at Lehigh University, majoring in Computer Science and minoring in Theater. He wants to be a lawyer, practicing cyber-crime and -security law, and his interest in music lies in vocal arts as well as musical theatre.

Sam is a master's student in Computer Science at Lehigh University. He is a rising web developer and also interested in applying Artificial Intelligence to music creation.

Christian studied bio and visual arts as a student and is currently a rising ui/x developer and founder hailing from Davis CA. He also operates a punk-rock city beekeeping and pollinator habitat non-profit and is interested in art and tech platforms for sustainable global culture.

Simran is a rising junior at Ashoka University (in India), majoring in Computer Science and minoring in Mathematics. She enjoys writing and reading fiction, and drawing in her leisure. Her primary interests in computer science include machine learning, cryptography, and network sciences.

Allison is a rising junior at Lehigh University, majoring in Computer Engineering. She is interested in robotics, machine learning, and ui/x development. She plays the trumpet in the Marching 97 and enjoys being involved in music.
