The memory of Ryan Christopher โStackโ Clark forever lives on within the Marching Virginians. On April 16th, we pause and reflect on the lives lost in 2007 and honor the everlasting legacy of Stack.
Stack was a beloved member of the Baritone section, and maintained a 4.0 GPA while pursuing a triple major in Biology, Philosophy, and English. His position as a Residential Advisor in West Ambler Johnston Hall shows his compassion for the students at Virginia Tech. Stackโs commitment to the school and community extended into his passion for service and membership in various service organizations, including the Golden Harvest Food Bank and the Richmond County Teen Health Corps.
Stackโs bright and vibrant personality, along with his ability to make friends with anyone, made him the model of Ut Proism both inside and outside the band. The statue that watches over the Marching Virginians Center was donated in 2015 to honor Stack. Today, he has met every single person that comes into the MVC and sees every aspect of the Marching Virginians. Each game day, band members tap Stack on the shoulder on their way to Lane Stadium for good luck.
To start this past season, we had the pleasure of seeing the Clark family during the Aflac Kickoff Game in Atlanta. The MVs also carried Stack especially close on our keys through handmade keychains representing the cords that he wore during his time in the band.
The MVs continuously honor Stack throughout our seasons, both on and off the field. We will always treasure him.
We are Virginia Tech, and we will never forget.
