Moral of the story: thankful. I think I said that 100 times in these recaps but I truly am. Pregnancy is longgg and to still be able to do something you enjoy during it is something I do not take for granted. I know many don’t have this opportunity or don’t feel good enough to do it so I cherish every run I can still get out there and do!

Decided to split this up into two parts so second half coming soon!

Second trimester running for the most part went well. I did have a little bit of plantar fasciitis in my right foot at the first part of the second tri but I was able to manage the symptoms with reducing mileage and intensity and continue running. Otherwise I felt really good running and couldn’t be more thankful!

That’s a wrap on running through the first two trimesters.

757 miles with a baby on board. Some days were hard but overall running this pregnancy has been easier than the first. I feel like I worked in getting stronger in areas that caused me issues with Sarah Tatum. Also maybe my body just knows what to do this time around who knows. I’ll share my second trimester running thoughts in a reel later if you care. So grateful my favorite form of movement has continued to feel good through 27 weeks.

Now the final countdown to baby number 2. What do you think it’s going to be: boy or girl?

Thankful to have run through the first two trimesters. I don’t know what the next 12 weeks will look like but regardless I’ll still be chasing a toddler 😅

Motivation is not always going to be there. My motivation for a run is 10x higher in the morning but I just don’t have the desire to get up super early pregnant and I’ve been valuing all the sleep I can get. So sometimes you just have to show up when you’re not 100% feeling it and usually you will not regret it!

Having a coach can be a game changer to training. Knowing how to properly train rather than throwing random workouts together and stacking weeks of consistency is the secret to success. If you feel lost in your running or feel like you’ve plateaued, it may be time to look deeper at how your training!

Don’t wait until 20, 18, 16 weeks before race day to start preparing for your race. There’s so much you can do in the months leading up to formal training to have a better race day. Too often I have runners come to me wanting to start their half or marathon training only running ~10 miles per week and race day is only a couple months ahead. Set yourself up for success and start now!
