This Memorial Day, the Hayes School of Music joins Appalachian State University in honoring the service members who gave their lives to protect our country. We wish our friends and community a meaningful holiday today.

Today, Appalachian State University is closed in recognition of Memorial Day and the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our country and our freedoms.

The university remembers and honors the students, faculty, staff and alumni who gave their lives while in service to our country. The names of the fallen are inscribed on a memorial plaque next to the B.B. Dougherty Administration Building in the heart of the Boone campus.
